Sheffield United Football Club have appointed former Shakers chairman Terry Robinson as their new executive director. Blades chairman Derek Dooley welcomed the appointment. He told the club's official website, www.sufc.co.uk: "Terry has been here for six months as football executive and has been an enormous help to the club for the workload he has taken on.

"He is extremely experienced within the game having been chairman at Bury and extensively involved as a director of the Football League.

"We have been impressed with his energy and contribution which will be even more invaluable as he will now have a direct voice on the board."
