Eddie Lewis yet to sign a new contract, dont worry PNE fans there's a new kid on the block, 16 year old Iain Howard, who just happens to be a left winger.

The 16 year old trainee scored a wonder goal for the reserves as he let fly first time from the edge of the box, curling the ball with the outside of his left foot, past the visiting keeper, and in off the far post.

The wonder strike also proved to be the winner as Preston won 1-0

The goal had both manager Billy Davies and his number 2 David kelly nodding in appriciation for the talented player.

The wonder goal stole the show even though there were no fewer than eight members of the senior squad playing, three of those Claude Davis, Omar Daley and Callum Davidson full internationals.

Nugent got a much needed run out, showing at times why Davies paid a six figure sum for the ex-Bury player.

PNE line-up
Ward, Mears, Broomes, Davis, Davidson, Daley, McCormack, Armstrong, Howard, Nugent, Jackson (Stott 83). Subs: Archer, Upson, Proctor, Warriner.
