Davies wants cuts

Preston North End manager Billy Davies, has stated he knows how many players he needs for 'his' ideal squad, and at the moment he feels PNE FC have too many..... It seems a long time since Preston North End were struggling to field a team, but it was only in December when player injuries and suspensions meant it was a difficult time for the Preston boss Billy Davies.

However one month later Davies feels he needs to cut his squad and you have to agree with him the currnt squad total is near 30 and that is with 4 players out on loan.

It was only recently that Davies said his ideal squad number was a tight nit group of 20-22 players.

So with the arrival of new boys Hill, Nugent, Sedgewick, Agyemang and the loaning of Rob Kozluk from Sheff Utd Davies must make cuts to accomadate them.

Davies said recently "we know we have too many players, we have to try to get one or two out and give them the opportunity to play first team football"

He went on to say "we are no different to any other club when there is movement in there has to be movement in the opposite direction"

Davies admitted that there had been some enquires from other clubs regarding PNE players and it was just a matter of waiting till the right deal comes along.
