Middlesbrough coach Colin Cooper admits he is not yet ready for management after seeing the pressure heaped upon former team-mates Stuart Pearce and Gareth Southgate.

The 40-year-old has been elevated to the role of first team coach at the Riverside Stadium following Steve Round's departure, and is enjoying the step up from reserve team level.

But, while the move into management remains a long-term ambition, the experiences of his current boss Southgate and fellow Nottingham Forest old boy Pearce have persuaded him the time is not yet right.

Southgate has endured a rollercoaster first season at the helm at the Riverside Stadium following his shock appointment last summer, while Pearce's job was hanging by a thread before last weekend's 2-0 Barclays Premiership victory on Teesside.

Cooper said: "If you go into management and think everything is going to be rosy, then you are very naive.

"Today I look at people I played with and respected to see how they cope with management.

"Stuart Pearce is one of the strongest characters I have ever played with in my life, and if it is too much for him, I feel it is too much for me at the present time.

"Gareth is very tactically astute and a lot calmer both on and off the pitch.

"At the moment, I would like to think I am somewhere in between the two, if I am being honest."

Like Southgate, Cooper was still registered as a player last season, although unlike the 36-year-old, he played only a minor role on the pitch.

His appearance as a substitute at the age of 39 at Fulham on the final day of the Premiership campaign was his 421st for the club from which he emerged through the ranks in two spells either side of distinguished stints with Millwall and Forest.

Having cut his teeth as a coach with the reserves, he was appointed second string boss and then as Southgate reshuffled his staff, joined the first-team ranks.

Intensely committed as a player, he has taken all his passion into the latest phase of his career and is relishing his role at the club.

He told Boro's official website, www.mfc.co.uk: "I wear my heart on my sleeve - I always do - and I do not get myself too up or down before, during or after games.

"My role is probably higher up the ladder than I thought it would be in my coaching life.

"At the moment, I am thoroughly enjoying it and the future will take care of itself.

"For now, I am very happy to be doing what I am doing."

A MINIMUM £28.75 PROFIT ON SPURS v READING

This week's Super Sunday match is a battle for Europe as Spurs take on Reading. It's a 4.00pm kick-off and we can guarantee you a minimum profit of £28.75 on the match, whatever the result.

We must point out that if you want to take this bet, you should do it now because if the odds change, then the figures here will be invalidated. If they have changed, let us know and we will rework the bet for you.

You won't be able to do this if you already have accounts with either of the bookies we are using for this bet but if that is the case, mail us, let us know which accounts you have and we'll send you an alternative bet.

We're going to lay out a total of £87.50 on the Spurs v Reading match and we will collect £130.00 if the game is drawn and £116.25 if the game is not drawn.

Here's how it's done. Just follow these simple instructions.

1. Open an account with Gambling AffiliationUnibet.

Open an account with Betfair . When prompted, enter the promotional code FBT125.

This shouldn't take you any longer than a few minutes.

2. Make the following deposits into your new accounts. Deposit £20.00 into your new Gambling AffiliationUnibet account. Deposit £67.50 into your new Betfair account.

3. Now make the following bets.

Place £20.00 on the draw at 3.25 (9/4) with Gambling AffiliationUnibet

Gambling AffiliationUnibet Will then credit your new account with a £20.00 bonus. Place this on the draw at 9/4 as well. You now have £40.00 staked on the draw.

LAY the draw at Betfair with £25.00 at odds of 3.7. Your liability (what you lose if your bet doesn't come in) on this bet is £67.50, which is why you need to deposit that amount in your account.

You have temporarily laid out a total of £87.50. I stress, temporarily... Now sit back, crack a beer open, crank up Sky TV and enjoy the match.

4. Here's what happens at the end of the game.

If it's a draw, you will collect £130.00 from Gambling AffiliationUnibet.

If it's not a draw, you will collect £91.25 from Betfair . You will then receive a cashback of £25.00 from Betfair , so the balance in your Betfair acount will now be £116.25.

5. This means that the worst case scenario on the Spurs v Reading match is the game is not drawn and you make £28.75 profit. But if it is a draw, you make £42.50 profit.

6. It is absolutely vital that you click on the links on this page to open the accounts with the two bookies and enter the correct Betfair promotional code of FBT125 or you may not qualify for the cashback.

Also, before you place your bets, you should check that the odds haven't changed. If they have, let us know and we will rework the bet for you.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions at all about this bet and we will come straight back to you.

Please note that the free bets and bonuses are valid for new customers only so if you already have an account with one or more of the bookies we are using, you won't be able to do this. If that is the case, contact us and we'll mail you an alternative bet using different bookies.

This method of betting was used very successfully during the World Cup and you can read all about how it was done right here.

We guarantee this bet

It's understandable that some people will not believe that it is possible to do this. "What's the catch?" I hear you asking. My answer to that question is that we have been publishing arbitrage bets for three seasons now and literally hundreds of people have profited from following the advice on these pages.

Only once has our refund guarantee been triggered and that was when we did all the figures wrong and sent refunds out to those who had followed our advice and made a small loss.

Our refund guarantee works like this. If this bet doesn't work like we say it will and you end up out of pocket, we will refund your losses. Simple as that.

That means that you simply cannot lose on this, whatever happens and even if we messed up the numbers.

The only stipulation here is that you must click on the links on this page to be eligible for the refund guarantee, not that you'll be needing to claim anyway. Just enjoy the profit and stay posted for many more of these throughout the season.
