Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate maintains neither Tottenham target Stewart Downing nor striker Mark Viduka, linked with West Ham, are for sale.
Southgate has become frustrated with a number of his key men subject to speculation during the transfer window but he's determined to keep them at the club in order to achieve the club's ambitions.
Following Saturday's crucial 3-1 victory over Charlton, Southgate said: "When there was talk about it in the summer, Stewart said to me he was more than happy where he is, enjoying his football.
"He is ambitious, but he wants to achieve those ambitions with us.
"I have terrific ambitions for the club which are matched by the chairman and we want to move forward together."
Australian striker Viduka, 31, is out of contract in the summer.
Southgate said: "We have had enquiries and tentative verbal offers, but there has never been anything concrete and we have not welcomed the approaches.
"Mark is an enormous player for us and I want him to be here not just at the end of this season but beyond that. He is a class act."
