City started their pre season as they ended last season, with Silverware after a tournament win in Denmark last night. City topped the table on goal difference after a 0-0 draw and a 2-0 win.

City off to winning start

City opened their pre season fixtures off with a tournament winning start in Denmark last night.

The blues featured in a mini tournament that also involved Danish sides FC Aarhus and Silkeborg. Each team played 45 minutes against the other two with the tournament winner being decided on points.

FC Aarhus beat Silkeborg 1-0 in the opening game with City then drawing 0-0 in their 45 minutes against Silkeborg. The game was then settled on a dribble and shoot type shootout with Silkeborg taking the honours, 2-1.

Those results left City needing to win by 2 goals in their last game against FC Aarhus which they duly did with goals from Kevin Horlock and new captain Ali Bernabia.

The result meant City topped the table on goal difference and started their pre season how they ended last season, with a trophy.

Schmeichel, Distin, Foe, Vuoso and Anelka all got run outs with Anelka in particular looking sharp.

The blues now move on to HFK Sonderjylland on Friday night where they complete the Danish leg of their pre season build up.
