55% of readers of this site voted that Paulo Wanchope would have the greatest influence on the World Cup by a City player. Only 20% voted for Niclas Jensen but that is who this site believes was the Manchester City player of the tournament.
World Cup PollPaolo Wanchope was voted as the City player most likely to have an impact on the World Cup with 55% of the votes in the World Cup Poll with Niclas Jensen in second with 20%. The other three received minor votes, perhaps backed up by their minimal appearances in the World Cup.With all City players now out of the competition it could be argued that Paulo, with his 1 goal, had the greater impact but I tend to go with the 20% who voted for Jensen. Apart from one (ok it was costly) mistake for England’s 3rd goal in the last 16, Jensen made the Danish left back spot his own. He kept Beckham reasonably quiet in the England game and was for me the best City player of the tournament. |
