As the transfer rumour mill goes quiet again several sources have resorted to silly speculation. Whilst that speculation continues we also keep our eye on City's World Cup participants as they warm up for the competition.
Silly SeasonAs the week draws to a close with only the signing of Mikkel Bischoff at the end of it, several sources have once more resorted to silly speculation as to who is on the way to Maine Road.I have read of City being linked with both Niclas Anelka and Robbie Fowler this week, in my opinion both are nothing but idle gossip. Much as I would like either at Maine Road, it isn’t going to happen. Both would command transfer fees of over £10 million and both would demand huge wages. They would also have their pick of top clubs if they became available, we aren’t there yet. Idle gossip aside, the three most likely targets would still appear to be Distin, Foe and Vuoso. The next week or two, leading up to the World Cup, should tell us a thing or two.
World Cup warm upsLast night was the latest round of World Cup warm up games involving City players.Richard Dunne failed to get a game as the Republic of Ireland went down 2-1 at home to Nigeria. Sun Jihai was also on the losing side as China went down 2-0 to Uruguay. We aim to keep you fully informed on the performance of the 5 City players involved in the World Cup so keep coming back to see how they fare. |
