Liverpool's Nick Barmby is the latest name to be linked with a move to Maine Road. The midfielder is believed to be available for a fee of around £4 million. Kevin Horlock has been offered a 12 month extension to his contract.

Barmby Interest

Several sources are reporting that City have shown an interest in Liverpool’s forgotten man, Nick Barmby. Barmby is available for a fee of around £4 million and was rumoured to have been in talks with Tottenham. Barmby is believed to want to stay in the North however, sparking rumours that City were interested.

City have dismissed these rumours as pure speculation and it is difficult to see where exactly he would fit in. If City do show an interest in Barmby though, they will also find competition from Sunderland and Middlesbrough.

Horlock contract extension

Kevin Horlock’s reward for his fine season is to be offered a 12 month extension to his contract. Horlock looked to be on his way out earlier in the season but took his chance, when offered, to produce the best football of his Maine Road career.

Horlock still has 12 months remaining on his current contract and the new deal will keep him at the club to Eastlands and beyond.
