Leeds Preview

Both teams have injury problems for the big kick off in what looks to be the “game of the day” in the Premiership.

Three City players are expected to make their debuts in this fixture, Nicolas Anelka, Sylvain Distin and Marc-Vivien Foe. Leeds will have two debutants in Paul Okan and Nick Barmby. City have brought in Tim Flowers on loan to provide cover for Carlo Nash and he will start on the bench tomorrow. Keegan has expressed the need to be flexible and has even talked about just starting with Anelka up front at Leeds. I can’t see this level of caution off Keegan and fully expect him to at least start the game with the formation he favoured last season.

The starting line up should look something like this, Nash in goal, Distin, Howey and Dunne in defence, Wright-Phillips and Jensen as the wing backs, a midfield of Foe, Berkovic and Bernabia and a forward line of Anelka and Huckerby.

Leeds will be without Fowler and perhaps Woodgate with Viduka also facing a late fitness test, they have a new manager in Terry Venables but have lost a major asset in Rio Ferdinand.

Keegan’s men have it all to do but I take them for a repeat of the last visit to Elland Road, 2-1 for City.
