Feeney Offer Upped BUT…

Doncaster Rovers this morning upped their offer for Warren Feeney to £175,000 but couldn not agree terms with Feeney’s agent.

After having the original bid of £150,000 rejected as County wanted more, Penney upped it at the last minute which was accepted by Stockport County.

 

But unfortunately for Rovers, we could not match the agent’s demands and Chairman John Ryan cares more for the clubs future than for on player right now.

 

Ryan also admitted that Feeney is likely to go to Luton Town.

 

Ryan told fans:

 

"I personally agreed the £175,000 with the Stockport owner Brian Kennedy this morning and it was accepted by them but I was not prepared to put this club into financial problems by trying to match the player’s agent's demands.”

 

It seems that he is going to Luton Town, who for a club who recently were in financial problems have made him a big offer and I wish Mike Newell all the best with him.”

 

“Although very disappointed, I will assure you that every effort will be made to bring in a top class striker for next season"
