Penney: Feeney Deal Failed

Doncaster Rovers Manager Dave Penney has admitted the club’s bid for Warren Feeney appears to have failed.

Rovers have bid £150,000 for Stockport’s Warren Feeney but the League One bottom club are trying to hold onto their star player.

County promised a response before the close of the transfer window and John Ryan this morning told press that the club had had nothing back from Stockport yet.

Feeney’s valuation rose after he scored a hat-trick on Saturday for Stockport.

Penney Said:

"It looks like the deal is dead, to be honest. I got a phone call last week saying our bid was the highest and they were looking to do something on Monday, but now they've come back and said the bid's not high enough."

"If we don't get Feeney then I won't do anything before deadline day, it's as simple as that."
