Rafa calls for consistency of form

Rafael Benitez has ordered his team to keep up their good form at Villa Park on Saturday. He expects his team to play as well as they did midweek against Anderlecht. Milan Baros can expect a good reception from the travelling fans.

Rafa said:

"I think Baros will get a good reception from the Liverpool supporters. It's a pity we had to sell him, but we know he's a good player who can score goals," said Benitez today.

"I'm not sure if he'll be fit for the game, but when he is he will be a good player for Aston Villa, we know that. But now we are thinking about our own team and how well we can play.

"We've had a good week and we want to make sure we continue to play to the same level."

The result last year was 1-1 and Liverpool played some of their best football, only a goalkeeping mistake preventing them from taking all three points. Rafa expects his team to remedy that result with a win.

"When we went there last season we played really well in the first half," Benitez recalled.

"We had three or four clear opportunities but ended up with a draw, which wasn't the right result. It was our best away performance of the season, in the first half at least.

"I'd like to see the same kind of performance again tomorrow, but this time for the full 90 minutes.

"If we can repeat that we can win. "Aston Villa are not in the best situation now, but in England all the games are difficult and things can change for teams very quickly.

"They had a bad start against Manchester City but afterwards they pushed forward and got back into the game and played well."

Rafa is expected to keep the team that played against Anderlecht midweek except for maybe Morientes who will have a fitness check tomorrow.

"Morientes was hurt in the celebration of his goal. It's not a big problem, but he felt a bit of pain," said Benitez.
