Rafa on Stevie and Carra

Rafa Benitez is confident his two England internationals will be up and ready for the match against Spurs despite their disappointment in midweek after England lost to Northern Ireland. He said:

"Both players are experienced and professional. I don't think they'll have any problem in changing their focus back onto the Premiership.

"What happened in midweek was disappointing for England, but our game on Saturday is very important for us and we need to concentrate on it."


He was also asked his thoughts on Sven Goran Erikssons midweek tactics but refused to be drawn in to the debate.

He said:

"I have respect for all managers and I don't like to comment on their tactics or their systems," said Benitez. "If Mr Eriksson chooses a system then it's because he believes it best suits the players he has at that time.

"I don't like to hear other managers criticising my system. If criticism comes from the fans or the press then fine, but as managers we are professionals and we have to respect each other's work."
