Peter Crouch is fit and eager to pull on the shirt once again against former club Tottenham Hotspur. Crouch has been out for nearly four weeks but after coming through a reserve team match with no problems he is now ready to take his place on the Liverpool forward line.
He said:


"I'm fit again now and raring to go," he told Liverpoolfc.tv in an exclusive interview at Melwood earlier this week. "If selected, this will be my first Premiership game as a Liverpool player and I'm determined to get off to a good start.

"It's going to be a difficult game but we'll go there in a confident frame of mind and hopefully get the right result. It's important we build on the win against Sunderland. We need to get as many points on the board as possible in the early weeks of the season as we've got some crucial games coming up. I'm really looking forward to it."

Crouch never made the grade at Spurs but has great respect for the club and thinks Martin Jol is taking them in the right direction.

"Tottenham is a good club," he adds. "I started out there as a young lad. Of course, there have been many changes at White Hart Lane since those days, but a few of the old faces are still there, like Ledley King who I know quite well. I believe he should be fit to play on Saturday, so that should be interesting.

"I've played with a lot of Tottenham's other young players for England under-21s and I know how talented they are. They are definitely an improving squad. The manager has bought well during the summer and once they gel I think Spurs could really challenge for honours."


Peter Crouch has been declared fit for Liverpool's game against one of his former clubs, Spurs. The match which takes place at White Heart Lane on Saturday, will be Peter Crouch's first Premiership game for the European Champions.
