Rafael Benitez today, said that the Chelsea manager sounds worried about Liverpool’s title credentials. Jose reckons that Steven Gerrard will come to regret his decision to stay at Anfield and said: “When he decides not to join this club, I think it will be a loss for him, for his career. “

"He can say 'I was European champion at Liverpool' and I have to say that is correct. But I can say to him in the next 10 years we will compare trophies at Chelsea and trophies at Liverpool. And he will lose."


Rafa, obviously amused said:


"I like it when Jose talks about us because it means we are doing well.

"He must be worried about us. I think we will do very well this season. Steven Gerrard will win many trophies with us - hopefully starting this season."


On Michael Owen Rafa said :

He said: "We have a lot of strikers who I am happy with and for me the most important thing at the moment is to protect Sami Hyypia and Jamie Carragher.

"I am looking for a centre back and not a centre forward.
