Rafa Benitez is still hopeful of Figo

Luis Figo returns from Real Madrid’s pre-season tour of Japan this week and it’s thought his future will be resolved by the week-end. Rafael Benitez hopes the player will be lured to Anfield with the offer of a 60,000 a week contract offer. Benitez is still waiting for news from Real Madrid over the proposed transfer as he prepares for his second round qualifier with Kaunas tonight in the Champions League.

The Liverpool manager says he will buy a right sided midfielder before the start of the Premiership campaign.
