Steven Gerrard dreams of lifting the Champions League trophy at the Ataturk Stadium next week and is confident of making the dream come true. Stevie would be the fourth skipper in Liverpool’s history to accept the trophy on Liverpools behalf if they manage to win it. He said:

"It's the biggest game of our lives and we are in confident mood," says Gerrard as the countdown to the big game begins in earnest.

"There is a big belief among all the lads in the squad. Training has gone well this week. We have trained hard, we are focussed and everyone is just looking forward to it so much now.

"I have dreamt of winning this match and lifting the trophy. It ?s the best club competition to play in and certainly the best one you can win.

"On paper it doesn't come much bigger than Liverpool versus AC Milan. They may be the favourites but we are not just turning up to make up the numbers. We are in it to win it. We have been underdogs all through the competition and it hasn't done us any harm.

"Milan are a very strong team and there will be many key battles all over the pitch. They have a lot of individual players but I think their greatest strength is teamwork.

"We have a lot of respect for them but we don't fear them. We'll be giving it everything we've got and have to make sure we don't return home with any regrets."
