Liverpool’s CEO Rick Parry admits to being excited by the draw that has brought Liverpool and Juventus together for the first time in 20 years. Parry speaking from UEFA headquarters in Nyon where the draw took place said: "They don't come much bigger, that's for sure. But obviously from our point of view it's great to be here and we'd take anybody at this stage.

"There are no easy games at this stage but they've got to be played sooner or later so why not now?

"We know what European nights are like at Anfield and they don't come any bigger than this one. It will be two fantastic occasions and it's really exciting."

On a more poignant note Parry was asked if the club would be doing anything to mark the first meeting between the two clubs since that ill-fated night in Brussels 20 year ago.

"Yes for sure," he replied. "There is a friendship between the clubs. It's quite a deep friendship and it's the same between the two sets of supporters. Of course, it's 20 years exactly since Heysel so yes we've already mentioned that.

"It is s something we will be giving thought to and I'm confident we will get that right. It's something we will think about very carefully and something we'll be talking to our supporters about. Juventus are doing the same and we will talk to them again next week.
