Former Leeds keeper Scott Carson Made his first team debut for Liverpool yestereday against Newcastle United at St James' Park.
Liverpool signed the highly rated youngster at the end of the latest transfer window for a fee of around £ 700 000. Since his arrival at Anfield he has been consistent in the reserves with some brilliant performances and also in the England under 21s.
Carson was gifted his first chance to let the Anfiled faithful know of his ability yesterday at St James' Park because both Jerzy Dudek and Chris Kirkland were injured. Dudek was still recovering from his ankle injury he picked up in the Carling Cup final.
Carson had a solid performance in goal yesterday for the Reds and it took a spectacular free-kick from Lauren Robert to beat him. Carson managed to get a hand on it but the ball had too much pace and spin on it to be kept out.
