Nicky Summerbee Leaves Rovers by Mutual Consent

Tranmere have today announced the fairly unsurprising news that midfielder Nicky Summerbee has left the Club by mutual consent after failing to tie down a permanent place in Brian Little’s squad. The news will be little surprise to Rovers fans after a disappointing Rovers career.

Summerbee 34, joined Rovers in September after earlier this season making a brief appearance for Swindon Town. After a successful spell of training with the Rovers squad, Manager Brian Little offered Summerbee a short term contract until the New Year.

Having made four appearances for the Club since signing the contract, Summerbee sadly failed to impress during what became a pretty bad spell for Rovers and he has not played a part in the match-day squad let alone the starting eleven in recent weeks.

Speaking to Rovers Official Website, Brian Little said, "Unfortunately it has not worked out for Nicky in our first team, as I have decided to give some of the younger players a chance. I have agreed to mutually cancel his contract to allow him to move onto other opportunities and we wish him well."

Total Tranmere would like to echo Brian Little’s comments in wishing Nicky all the best for the future.
