The former Preston captain was on loan at Prenton Park over the Christmas period in 2002 and finishing in 2003. But this was only to regain fitness from an injury he suffered while playing for Preston. But when the defender became available on a free in the close season of 2004, Rovers boss, Brian Little snapped up “Jacko”. In his first full season, Mike Jackson made over 40 appearances and captained the side when Jason McAteer was unavailable to. Although Jacko is not the fastest, he makes up for it in his determination and good leadership of the back four. |
