The offer of a contract extension follows a meeting in Sheffield yesterday at which the Club were successful in getting Zola’s work permit extended by a further two years.  Speaking to the Official Club Website, Manager Brian Little said “We’re all looking forward to Calvin progressing.  He’s put a lot of his troubles behind him and were just hoping he’ll become a major player for us.  He has worked really hard in training during the last ffew months and though he has not been playing games he has improved”.

The news is a welcome boost to Rovers fans but will also come as a huge relief for Calvin himself who after an awful six months, can now look forward to the future, a future which for the next two years at least seems set to be at Prenton Park.

Also at the same Sheffield meeting, the Club were also celebrating the approval of work permits for Jamaican pair Ian Goodison and Theo Whitmore who had both last week signed new contracts at the Club subject to the approval of work permits.  Now that this has been granted, the pair will definitely be a part of the Rovers squad next season.
