Tranmere chairman Lorraine Rogers has announced that Season Tickets for the 2005-06 season are likely to go on sale at the end of this month in order to help the club plan ahead. Financial planning for next year have been affected by the introduction to the Football League of a transfer window.

Speaking to the Tranmere Rovers Official website following the clubs Annual General Meeting (AGM) earlier this week, Lorraine Rogers said that "the flexibility we've enjoyed in recent years will be affected by the introduction of the transfer window."

The system of transfer windows has been in use throughout Europe, including the English Premiership for a couple of years but until now the English Football League has been exempt.  The transfer window rules prevent any club from making transfers from the end of August to the end of December and from the end of January to the end of the season.  The gap in between in January (the transfer window), is the only time during the season that clubs can make transfers.  This affects revenue particularly of smaller and poorer clubs.  The only transfers that are allowed outside if the window are those that involve players who are not attached to another club at the time.

However, the desicion to introduce the rules next season mean that Tranmere's Board of Directors have decided to aid their forward financial planning by selling season tickets as early as the end of this month.
