After seeing the reserves I take a look at some quality youngsters Tranmere have. I was impressed with numerous players, so I decided to let you know what I think. I could see some of them easily being Tranmere greats, and fan favourites in the future.

After going to the Tranmere reserves game today, against Bradford, I was impressed with the amount of level the youngsters of the team played at.

So this article looks at the top crop of the players who shone and look to have huge futures at the club, these players you might not have heard of, thats one of the aims of this article.

Paul Brown

Seems to get everywhere. Although he played on the right wing, out of position for him, he seemed to control the game and hook up fantasticly with Chris Dagnall, setting up the second goal. Looks frightning, attacking at pace, and plays lovely balls into the box, what Rovers seem to lack at the moment.

Even when out of position he had a great eye, and movement creating space for other attacks. A big talent and one to watch. Good work his way in the team as we struggle for a left winger of his quality.

Chris Dagnall

Every Rovers fan knows his talent, and he showed it here playing well and linking well with Paul Brown on numerous occasions. I was a bit surprised he was playing, as he is more than capable of playing in the first team. But he scored a good goal after good play by Paul Brown, and Chris was able to show his worth with his darting runs and scary pace. A true problem for any defence in this League.

Steven Jennings

Already a huge talent, and pushing for that first team place, and he didn't disappoint. great long balls changing the width of play, equal vision. I think he will simply be a huge prospect for us and hopefully carry on that central midfield role into the first team, when the likes of Jason McAteer and Mark Rankine retire, he is more than capable of making that position his own.

Carl Tremarco

The phrase "Crunch Tackler" springs to mind. A huge prospect who does NOT back out from a challenge. Played excellent and looks amazingly calm on the ball at left back.  Plays alot like Gareth Roberts but with more of a tackle. Likes to help out the midfiled but finds the pace to get back. Another great player for the future. If an injury or suspension happens to Roberts, Carl looks ready to fill his boots.

Paul Martin

Another great tackler and a great presence at the back. Very strong and has a good eye for midfield. But might find it hard to get in the team as his centre back partner and reserve captain, Paul Linwood also played well. I feel his time will come, but for now he has Ian Goodison, Ian Sharps and Mike Jackson ahead of him.

Oliver James

Although he came on as a substitute, you could see his potential and he looked a good player. He hit a few long balls, everyone on target and to perfection.

Just like to finish on saying well done to the reserves for a deserved 2-1 win.
