Little tactics? Well he does have lots, but are they always the rights ones. Does he make the right subs?, does he get his formations right?, should Ian Goodison paly left back and Gareth Roberts left midfield?, should he play Howarth or Achterberg? But we take a look at the more unusual tactic of playin 3 upfront

Tactical maestro or not,  Brian Little does know his football.

The Rovers boss has lots of experience, which aided his cause to become the Tranmere manager a while back.

Little knows what he can do, and with the players hes accumulated, hes become a fans favourite and managed to stear Tranmere to that all wanted promotion.

On Saturday, Little changed his tactics to clash with his opponents, Luton. This was to paly three upfront. He drafted in striker Eugene Dadi and played to players behind him. The pace addition was used here. Canandian international, Iain Hume, who already has 12 goals to his name, and former Jamaican starlet, Paul Hall were selected to do the job.

This gave Rovers confidence and agility, along with Eugene's close ball control and skill which gave Rovers the best setting infront of goal.

This plan was marvellous as it showed, after only 5 minutes, Iain Hume teamed up with Eugene Dadi to score.

Although the game eventually ended 1-1, with a dubious penalty decision, Rovers boss has praised his three stars, believing they changed the perspective of how Rovers usually play.

Speaking to www.icliverpool.co.uk he said: "I'm happy with the current form and the lads are feeling very comfortable with what they're doing at the moment.

"We're happy with the system and we're happy with the way we're playing. We are trying to play with three forwards, but when you play away from home we're giving two of the forwards a discipline in terms of when they lose the ball they've got to stop the opposition full backs getting forward.

"When in possession they've got licence to go wide or wherever they want. It suits the personnel quite well."

Tactics is the best way of management, but Little has had his critics for other substitutions and more, but he safely got it right this time.

Little believes only a solid future is ahead, even youngster Chris Dagnall wasn't able to seek a place due to the quality in the three man force upfront.

After Hull slipped to points last night, Rovers are now only 2 points behind them, although Hull have a game in hand.
