Mathematically possible is not the same as possible

Many things are mathematically possible. It's mathematically possible that you can in the lottery, or survive a game of Russian Roulette, or survive an airplane crashing. It's also mathematically possible that Tranmere will get promoted this season.

I hated maths at school, most boring subject where they taught you lots of useless stuff. Similarly, whilst I love watching Tranmere play, I hate how our season has disintegrates. What's really frustrating is that we have some quality in this team, but we aren't utilising it. Nevitt & Jolley have been the revelations of the season. Yet, there is something in Hemmings' contract that says he has to play in every game even if his contribution isn't always apparent. There must be something in Merrie's contract that says he can only be used as emergency cover when alll else fails. Clarke has a contract that will keep him at the club until he is 90. Mathematically all of those terms are possible, albeit unlikely.

Mellon's contract must have a number of interesting provision. 'You will be fined if players pass the ball forward too often' and 'You will get a bonus payment if Tranmere have more possession in the game than the opponents regardless of results'. The other interesting one is 'having a shot on target is to be avoided until you are a goal down'. It's clear that the club are masters in negotiating these terms.

Still, I'll renew my season ticket . It's mathematically possible that we could have a good season. Don't hold your breath!

Well given that the form recently has been W2 D5 L5 I suspect the mathematical possibility is somewhat into the ‘hope for a miracle’ territory.

Possible, yes. Probable, no.

That's the spirit Goosed. Finally a positive statement. Good to see you endorsing the longevity of a league like league 2.

Another year and again not going up bad results let us down.I think that the owners need to invest in new players instead of looking for a new ground. When you look at the teams that we have lost to this season we could of gone up no problem but yet again bad results let us down yet again.
