How many are you looking at bringing? Away end holds over 2000 so you better all get here early!! , if you turn left off borough road use the first gate on the corner you can park your bus about 25 yards from one of the goals as you throughly intend to do.

In all seriousness we have not been behind this season so if you score first it will be a true test of new Tranmere.

If you are getting tonked at ht there are vacancies on the hot dog stands and burger bars your players could even give in and top their 80 quid a week up by helping out

we haven't got a bus, they're coming on an express train. a bit like the one that your team are going to think they've been hit by at 16:45 on saturday.
i'll give it 10 mins before you're behind, and as for the burger bars, i guess some of your lads may be looking for a job come sunday morning thumbs down

To be honest I hops Tranmere oast the interlopers and show them they Kent handle the pressure.

I think as Maidstone is closer to France than Tranmere is, some Maidstone fans may be thinking a bit of the French Euro championship joie de vivre has rubbed off on them, but I fear they are mislead (Sm7).

I like the fact their club motif depicts some balls in a river, because if they don't hit the target very well, that's where some of their shots might be going (Sm6)

Jokes aside, I do get that this is kinda of a big deal to teams coming up from leagues below this one. We mock and use the term "pub team" but in reality there are a lot of good local teams competing against the "wannabes" *cough*Dover, Eastleigh, Forest Green*cough*. I've actually enjoyed awaydays chatting to locals in the pubs etc. Well away from a lot of teams with egos in the football league.

Undoubtedly. In some ways this may be a real test of the 'new' Tranmere. Newly promoted side that haven't been here before, their fans looking forward to this as one of the high points of the season, home fans expectant, away team will play hard and make it tough for us. Can we stamp our authority on the game and get a win? We struggled to do it in situations like this last year and it is a question mark area that needs putting to bed. If we can't do it, it gives other teams hope that they can get results here and could create some unrest among our fans that things haven't changed.

Utterly dominant for the first half hour, then relaxed a bit and let them have the ball for a bit, before we scored. Any sort of finishing and we would've been 3 up at the half. We controlled the second half without really pushing too hard before multiple lapses allowed them a well-taken goal. Thoroughly deserved winner for us, but a few too many scares near the end for my liking when they threw the kitchen sink at us. Nors should have buried that 1 on 1 to make it comfortable really and Brabin was hilarious with the sub issue.

Pretty comfortable overall and thoroughly deserved win. Well done to the Maidstone support for keeping going throughout. Your keeper had a good game too.

Got to give the opposition some credit, keeper made saves, they cleared off the line and didn't buckle under the pressure always doing just enough to make it hard for us to get the ball into the back of net. If they hadn't done that we could have scored a hatful.

To be fair to Higgo, I can see where he is coming from without being negative. Without doubt the best strick force in the league, but we are only getting goals when we need to and not for fun which we are capable of. Don't get me wrong, if it takes a season of wins by one goal I'll have it, but a few more comfortable wins wouldn't go a miss.

We won, doesn't matter by what score line, and as for margetts when he did play he didn't perform so why keep playing him? I will be surprised if he out scores Norwood who is a hundred times better than margetts.

Why

I enjoyed the game today.Thought we played very well in and dominated the first half[think they gave us too much respect in that period].We missed quite a few chances but Cook's goal came at a good time.

The second half started in the same vein but a turning point came about ten minutes in when one of their defenders seemed to appear from nowhere and made a great clearance off the line from Cooks goalbound header. From then on,they grew in confidence and played some good football-one thing I liked about them was the way they played the game-no playacting, cynicism, dirty tackling, harassing the ref like quite a few other teams in this and other leagues.

Scott Davies will be disappointed at the goal he let in but it wasn't just HIS fault that they scored. We kept going well and McNulty's goal was fully deserved [and boy did he welly it]but a relief after all the chances we had missed[at least we are creating plenty although we overelaborate too much at times in and just outside the opposition penalty area]

For me,Maynard was again outstanding and there were good performances from quite a few others. Connor J had a bit of an off day but he is entitled to one after his excellent start for us.

I thought that we could have made better uses of the substitutes -the front men were knackered towards the end after their sterling efforts and all three subs should have been used for the last ten minutes.

Five wins out of five-can't complain about that. At least that's what I thought until I encountered one of our ''supporters'' in the Bunny Bell after the match

My first league game live this year as I don't live locally but having seen many of the pre-season games and after such a great start I was very much looking forward to it!

My thoughts mirror many other posts - we created a mountain of chances in the first half and for sure we could have been 3 or 4 up at half time which was great to see BUT we looked tired in the second half (Brabin once again left changes too late IMO, and not enough) and midfield shape was lost after they scored as they grew in confidence. Acres of space for them in midfield and to pick up clearances. Personally I do care about how many we win by as I really didn't enjoy the stress of the last 10 minutes as they came at us all guns blazing with us hanging on after having outplayed them in the first half.
This was a recurring theme last season of course and whilst I am delighted by the 5 victories on the bounce we should not get blase about this. On another day we could have dominated the game and lost/ drawn....

Brilliant result to get the team 5 from 5, but I agree about the goals things. It's great to be winning like this, but the best champions have a few barnstormers, so hopefully Tranmere might do that soon, because the squads good enough for a full on 3, 4 goal winning margin against one or two sides, but if they win by a goal all the time I won't be complaining about that and Brabin is living up to my expectations of him this season.

Agree with the credit. First half I thought they were probably one of the worst teams I've seen. Did they give us to much respect, probably. Not a dirty team and a credit to Kent. Second half they look a different team, played some good football at times and even had me saying I might put a tenner on them reaching the play off.

Thought the ref was good yet again, did read some where we should of had a pen, not sure on that one myself.

Yea agree now. Forgot about that, and it was right in front of us in the kop as well. Although at the time we didn't seem to call for it that much. But agreed nailed on pen.

Great result , great start . Comfortable first half and deserved lead . Great to see us playing to feet with movement off the ball creating space and giving options . My main gripe last season was the all too often long ball to Norwood , who , most of the time had two 6`4 centre backs keeping him company ! It's hard to be negative after a win , but , one small thing struck me especially in the second half . That was , on occasions our decision making was wrong . A number of times ( Harris and Norwood ) took that one touch too many that got them into trouble . Maybe if Norwood would have played the one on one earlier we wouldn't have had raised blood pressure ! Still , great finishes for both our goals and a positive vibe round PP . Hats off to Maidstone as well who had an organised back four and didn't come to boot us off the park ( Unlike FG last season ) .

Phew yet again we made it hard for ourselves after what should have been a comfortable win over the 90 mins, from the 3 homes games it's quite clear Brabin does not like to change things in a hurry during the second half when we've not put the games to bed, that's my big worry as none of the opposition have looked anything special. Thought a fair few looked very tired today with C.Jennings being the most obvious, Ref was the best I've seen at PP for a long time and credit to their keeper who seemed inspired and their fans who enjoyed themselves, also thought Davies should have done better with the goal, thought Hughes & Maynard were superb again, looks like our wins at home will all be tight games so will just have to live with the tension if it keeps bringing us 3 points. Live TV next up at PP !

All very well saying we need to play wide men velico , but , IMO if you play with wingers ( Mekki , Kirby ) for example you have to either compromise the midfield ( 4-4-2 ) or strikers ( 4-5-1 ) and , unfortunately our final balls in are not good enough ( or there's no-one in the box ) . Better option IMO is to play wing backs which pushes up the play and also gives the option of playing through the middle . Don't think Brabin is far off .

Agree, use the wingers as subs to mix it up when needed not point in changing winning combo. Maybe in future when teams get more used to our style.

Have them hung, drawn and quartered. How dare they want to see us win the odd game comfortably. What sort of Utopia do they think this is. However, our attendances may be a little lower, with 1 goal wins, by the end of the season as some may not be able to bear the tension and will be sent to meet their maker!! I have a hunch that Brabin and the players would like more goals from chances created so it isn't so fanciful or such a sin to aspire to the same. Aside from the chances we missed and so on I was made we up with another win. So what we didn't score 6, a win is a win.

I thought the referee was excellent, several times I thought they had claims for fouls that all of the other refs we've seen in this league would have given . The most obvious to me was I think Cook jumping with their keeper and winning the ball. At all levels of football keepers get too much protection, why isn't a challenge on the keeper seen as like a challenge on any other player, and not automatically a foul?

There number 10 looked good, very often a threat.

Chatting to some of their fans after, it was like a big day out whatever the result they were there to have a good time,

Keep this going, 1-0 or 6-0 is good😃

I disagree completely with those calling for wingers. That would mean sacrificing what is, at the moment, the strength of the team in central midfield. As a 3 Jenno, Maynard and Harris is dominating play. Bring the wingers off the bench when needed and change things around if necessary. We've won 5 out of 5, don't change what's clearly working unless you have to.

Why is someone not a supporter for not liking the manager, Arsen Wenger is Arsenals most successful manager yet 80% of their fans want him out, they finished 2nd last season. As they say there support the team not the regime. I do agree that it seems a bit odd to be having a dig with 5 wins from 5 and whilst we all expected more last season you can't question the players he's brought in, largely all successful signings and even the failures on paper were good. I just don't get this jumping all over people for being "negative" all the time. Maybe you are the negative ones, or perhaps we all just see it differently. I maintain Vaughan is not up to it and although I didn't go I watched the goals on You Tube and he was at fault for their goal, out of position caught in no mans land on his heels leaving there guys acres to pass it in to and run on to. But que me being hung drawn and quartered in the dictatorship of Tranmere fans making the observation something went wrong. Yes I am probably seeing things I want to see to justify my stance, but likewise it could be vice Versa. We do have an odd fan base in parts of the ground, I've been hearing a lot of odd comments about people's performances in the Johnny King, but Ultimatley we have a proportion of fans who don't understand the game and its intricate ways. The atmosphere is definatley better thus far but probably largely down to the better attitude seen pitch side.

There's just a time for negativity and that's when things aren't going as well as they are now.

I personally think McNulty is consistently a disaster waiting to happen at the back but at the moment it hasn't happened, we're keeping clean sheets and defending well so I felt the need not to mention it.

I agree, I just don't see genuine observations as negative is all, also not suggesting it should be voiced at the pitch. I always applaud our endeavour largely on my own at times when others are groaning. Not sure I agree on McNulty but I certainly see what you mean at times maybe too relaxed an I certainly don't think it's negative to mention it. Surely there is no issue with discussion though, after all I'm sure we're all only discussing what the staff and players are, bar the manager out stuff. Lad in work was very anti Brabin even pre season, but he's taken a step back now although I do think he's waiting for him to fail. Personally think Brabin is justifying Palios decision at this time and he will grow into the role, he is only just into his second year, the introduction of back room assistance has defo helped him.

there is a great clip on you tube of yesterdays game.. its taken from a camera in the main stand. the clip is just over 10 mins in duration and was taken by a maidsone fan I think coz its under the title of 'stones tv'. it shows all the chances that were created plus the goals too. there sure were plenty of chances for both sides , especially for rovers. loved watching mcnulty smash his goal home. typical centre halfs goal, just stick your leg out and smash it home, lol. we had a lot of chances.. don't like being critical of any of our players for their goal but looked to me as if Vaughan got caught out a bit and should davies have stopped it ?
anyway, great to see that we are creating lots of chances, keep it up rovers!

Graeme souness made a good comment about arsenal last week, in the fact that the arsenal are run as more of a business than a football club. is it a case of, balancing the books takes precedence over success on the pitch? maybe arsenal are being very prudent and getting finances sorted out first and asking fans to be patient with regards to success on the pitch.. if arsenal fans think they are starved of success then they need to look at clubs in the lower leagues and non leagues to see how lucky they really are.

Football becomes a business when people pay to watch it. Think with Arsenal, that's why Wenger has been in charge for so long as he's so shrewd with the cash flow. Other managers are sacked quickly for being backed with lots of cash but then failing and the owners not getting any returns.

football is a business now. long gone are the days when players would be seen in cafes near to the ground 1 hour before kick off having their pre match meals of a cup of tea and some bread n butter pudding along with the fans. so many sports are just not sport anymore. ive hardly watched any of the Olympics, too many of these athletes are on performance enhancing drugs and god knows what else. I hate motor sports, I loathe them, its all about who has the most souped up engine, its a load of bollox. I seem to recall that we conceded a few goals last season after a substitution and then it was "why did he make that substitution or why did he take off the "wrong" player?"

Brabin will never "win" even if the team romps to the championship.

I think Brabin has been completely different thus far, much more positive outlook and attitude. I don't think he will win everyone over because there are some odd outlooks in our crowd. I think he's been very shrewd this year and made changes at the correct time personally. We have had lots of chances so when we are pressing for the goal it makes sense to stick at it, if the chances dry up make a change.

I think that we need to recognise that it is possible to offer a critique of performance and that this is not the same as being critical. This thread has quite a few comments that are in essence no more than a critique and yet the negativity police quickly charge such posters with negativity.
Deadly is absolutely right that there should be recognition that this is a great start to the season but I cannot see why it is not reasonable for people to offer a view about potential flaws. If people only raise potential issues after a defeat no doubt they would then be accused of being fair weather supporters

Now this is where I disagree. I think Brabin has set us up with a fairly similar outlook. We just have the right personnel now to do what he wanted us to do last year. Solid defence, control midfield. Score goals through weight of pressure rather than attacking brilliance. The difference this year is our midfield has the option of a target in Cook and the extra man allows them to get further forward.

There will still be people who may say "I do not like Brabin" even after this start and if they said it before, they will hardly come on here or on the street and necessarily admit whether it is or isn't still their chance and some who may deemed others Brabin Haters, should not automatically be assumed not to be one.

After all there's certain sections of society known to have marginalising views against others who might declare other such people to be so, but would either deny or not disclose their own affection for such views and thus anyone taking against Brabin or any other clubs manager whether on the street or on an internet site may declare themselves as some point, but if a teams fortunes change, might not reverse their attitude or continue to admit they still have the same attitude as before.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

people wont like brabin, im not his biggest fan, but hes shown over the last year or so he can get results, and that all i care about, football is a results game atm he is getting them result that doesnt mean after 1 draw or one defeat i want him sacked, i want him to succeed because i want out of this league, i had a couple fans behind me shouting abuse towards brabin at the lack of substitutes, (he has just brought kirby on) i turned round and said hes just brought a player on what else do you want, they said they dont like kirby i raised my eyes to the sky in disbelief, later on they then complained about his delaying bringing mekki on, once again they couldnt grasp that many manager refuse to make a substitute when your in a defensive situation, you would have thought they would have been happy the intention was there because if we roll the clock back 12 months he is bringing on mekki at 2-1 he would have brought on sutton that for me is were it shows he has changed as a manager and we have changed as a team.

people wont like brabin, im not his biggest fan, but hes shown over the last year or so he can get results, and that all i care about, football is a results game atm he is getting them result that doesnt mean after 1 draw or one defeat i want him sacked, i want him to succeed because i want out of this league, i had a couple fans behind me shouting abuse towards brabin at the lack of substitutes, (he has just brought kirby on) i turned round and said hes just brought a player on what else do you want, they said they dont like kirby i raised my eyes to the sky in disbelief, later on they then complained about his delaying bringing mekki on, once again they couldnt grasp that many manager refuse to make a substitute when your in a defensive situation, you would have thought they would have been happy the intention was there because if we roll the clock back 12 months he is bringing on mekki at 2-1 he would have brought on sutton that for me is were it shows he has changed as a manager and we have changed as a team.

Yet again moaning about our fans. Why o why not just enjoy the win. I sit in the kop. Above the family enclosure and there is nothing negative, I suggest you move there. Are you sure these fans are not just living out their dream of being a manager and giving their advise. Wrong advise maybe but that's why they are not in a dug out. Get off the fans backs.

Why don't the moaning fans just enjoy the wins instead of moaning? Then the rest of us would have nothing to say.

Not everyone is a glass half full, but don't mean they don't support the club or mean to cause any harm. I beleave in the term there is always room for improvement. The world is not perfect in any walk of life, but doesn't mean I'm not a fan.

But why should the non negatives be told to enjoy the win when those moaning aren't enjoying it but that seems to be OK?

Just because they can see that in their eyes improvements are required doesn't mean they are not enjoying the win. They are just not on here saying everything is perfect, because for them it's not. And because this is what they believe doesn't make it wrong. So all I ask is that you stop victimising anyone who dares post a different view from the glass half, all rosey brigade.

Having and expressing a different opinion from someone else does not mean you are victimising them.

Five wins out of five. At approximately £800 million less than Manchester United and City have paid for players/pay wages to.

At least it is value for money, if not perfectly executed.

It's traditional, healthy and progressive to analyse games win, lose or draw and every manager will do it after each game. As we're all experts in the art of football management (you should see our results on Football Manager on the XBox!) we'll share our own analytical expertise. Of course we'll have our own methodology on how to succeed which will vary considerably. Negative or positive is just a perception and is used too freely and is a barrier to broader debate. I'm sure there is not one of us who is not delighted by our points tally and position at the top. However, performances, both individual and team, will always be open to debate despite our "perfect" start. Perhaps we should come up with our own managerial name; toying with Phil Shankly for myself! (I'm sure some of you could come up with something more original and funnier for yourselves!). With regards to dance groups I'm more a fan of Pan's People (for those ancient enough to remember)showing my age now although I was very young at the time and didn't understand why I liked watching them dancing energetically! - not sure if the Phil Shankly will have some relativity there too! (could get me into trouble that one! Apologies in advance if that's the case, just attempted humour!).(Sm102)

Nice one ,let us on this site know what you thought about yout trip and game/stadium food etc
well, where to start. didn't have any food so i'll leave that one, and the stadium speaks for itself. however, and i'll just lump the rest into one list, the stewards, club officials (and i met a few) the day in general, and more importantly you lot, were outstanding. tranmere away has now gone into my top ten awaydays to look forward to.
will we be back there next season? probably not. but i'm sure our paths will cross up your way again, and hopefully in the not too distant future. looking forward to seeing you all down our way at the seasons end.

I enjoyed my day too, particularly the fact that your team played football the right way unlike many of the other teams we've seen here in recent times. Those I met from your club[including fans] were all good to talk to and I look forward to our visit to your place at the end of the season.Hope you do well the rest of the season[there's no reason why you shouldn't]particularly against the other so called 'top teams'[apart from the return match of course].
