After 48 hours of voting we can now confirm that you have voted defender Steve McNulty as your Tranmere the Man of the Match for last Saturday's 1-0 home win over Southport.....

Yesterday we unveiled him as your Tranmere Player of the Month for January and today the honours continue for defender Steve McNulty who we can now confirm as your Man of the Match from the 1-0 home win over Southport on Saturday after 48 hours of voting.

Against a previously in form Southport side, the Rovers defence, of which McNulty was a huge part, kept a clean sheet as James Norwood's 63rd minute penalty handed Rovers a hard-working and fully deserved 1-0 win to move up to fourth place in the National League.

As you can see from the poll results below, the win for McNulty was no fluke as he polled a massive 40% of the vote (12 votes) to win by a margin of 20% from nearest challenger Lee Vaughan (6 votes).  Much improved captain Steven Jennings took third place with 10% of the votes whilst Liam Ridehalgh, Jay Harris and match-winner James Norwood came joint fourth with 7% of the votes each (2 votes each).

Only goalkeeper Scott Davies and quite surprisingly Gary Taylor-Fletcher failed to poll any votes from the starting eleven on the day whilst the same applied to brief substitute Jack Mackreth.
