We can now confirm that Adam Mekki has been voted as your Tranmere the Man of the Match for last Saturday's 2-1 home win over Torquay United.....
As Rovers approach their next National League game at home to Southport on Saturday, we can reveal that the Tranmere Man of the Match for last Saturday's 2-1 home win over Torquay United, as voted by the readers of Total Tranmere was Adam Mekki after a week of voting this time around.
Rovers dominated the first half of the game and took the lead through Gary Taylor-Fletcher's wonder goal, which gave the hosts a deserved 1-0 half-time lead.
The second half began pretty much the same as the first with Rovers in control but it was late in the game before James Norwood added an excellent second goal just minutes before the visitors from Devon added what turned out to be a consolation goal as the game ended 2-1.
As you can see from the poll results below, Mekki took the honours with just 26% of the overall vote (10 votes) with goalscorer Gary Taylor-Fletcher in second place with 18% (7 votes).
Jay Harris and Michael Iheikwe came joint third with 16% of the vote each (6 votes each) whilst Lee Vaughan, Liam Ridehalgh and Steven Jennings all polled votes as well this week.
Thanks to everyone who voted in the Man of the Match poll for the Torquay United game. Stay tuned to Total Tranmere after Saturday's game at home to Southport for our next Man of the Match poll.
Deadly Submarine I know it's a democratic vote with differing opinions but these poll results baffle me sometimes!
You've also made it clear that you're not the biggest Mekki fan so your view on it might be slightly tainted. Having said that I thought he may have been beaten by one or two this time around. Good luck to the lad though as I think he deserves some recognition for his endeavours.

For the second time of asking this week (with out a reply the first time) where have I said this?
Seriously?? Must be your identical twin posting when others have praised Mekki and you (sorry, your identical twin) has taken an alternative view. Twin was not the most complimentary about Mekki in the "Taylor-Fletcher" thread. Peace and good night!

Nope still can't see it?! All can see in that thread is me defending the last time I was accused of saying something about Mekki so still it seems these accusations are unfounded?
As I've said (twice already elsewhere) Mekki is a good player but as Hoots says above he was anything but the best player on Saturday (in mine and Hoots opinion but not in the opinion of others - which is what the poll is for at the end of the day).
Maybe it would be more fruitful for those critiquing Deadly's so-called assertions about Mekki to actually link to a discussion where he supposedly denigrates the player, rather than refer to instances that are not highlighted, bar one where Deadly defended the same assertion, which is therefore not a damming indictment of Mekki, but more so Deadly's right to defend a prior assertion he denigrates Mekki, which was not backed up by the accuser with any highlighted instances of said denigration.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
"Held in too high a regard by our fans", " Some kind of God". Just a couple of quotes that gave me the impression Deadly is not his biggest fan. Clearly if others hold him in higher regard than Deadly, as appears clear in other posts and quoted by Deadly himself, then Deadly is not his biggest fan. Nothing wrong with that of course. Hopefully that's more fruitful Matt34. Further evidence is Deadly's assertion that Mekki is immune to criticism didn't give vibes of endearment. Hey ho, I'm sure we will have moved on after tomorrow's game. Did agree wth Deadly's assertion that it was surprising that Mekki got the vote so I'm no Mekki groupie!
Those highlighted comments by you could also point to Deadly simply believing that Mekki is being hyped too much.
As an example Lowe scored 19, but if any people head started talking about him in the same breath as Aldo, would it look justifiable or flighty notions?
I am happy with Mekki, but I don't think he is worth accrediting with some god like status, as some may possibly be appearing to do.

I guess we could bounce this around all night but I surrender! Been out-fought (or out-thought when it comes to you Matt!😀) enjoy the game tomorrow (you too Deadly)
