Nothing less than a good win will satisfy the fans. No more excuses about spoiling tactics and "parking the bus". We should have had sufficient experience by now to be able to get the better of these teams. Despite the phrophets of doom and despair We are 6 points from a play-off position with 23 games to go. Let's get behind the team from the off.

If any of our fans start getting on the backs of the players during the game, please bear in mind that's exactly what Braintree will want, so you will play straight into their hands.

Here's to a good victory.

I lose the will to live sitting there having to put up with there moronic comments!!!

It's annoying as the first few months of the season we had a positive vibe about the place seems it's all gone back to miserable Prenton again. Think with a couple of back to back wins at home we can get that feeling back ! Got to win on sat, just got to!

A good one for the treble chance. A good opportunity to take 3 points off a team above us in the league. We can't afford to lose this one. If Jake Kirby is in the starting line-up and is on form it could be the shot in the arm we need. I'll be worried if Jay Harris isn't playing though.

Seems Brabin thinking it's going to tough game on Saturday, they been working all week on the training ground they have gone back to basic's to be ready for Braintree. Good job Braintree are part timer's and not full time or Brabin would be talking this game up.

Sad ain't it hard game's we're once playing West Ham in the league not Braintree shows how will have fallen even so we should be better than these teams.

That's ambitious. 11 goals for Tranmere, I like your style.

Admittedly I realise that was not your sentiment.

I'll be happy with a 1-0. You only need 1-0 to get 3 points, so as far as I'm concerned if they could even manage a couple of 1-0's and a draw from the next 3, they'd be getting a bit of form going.

Although if they feel like finding some 4 goal in a match scoring ability like they have done this season, I wouldn't be unhappy if they did.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Not from what I have seen this season.

Fans complain when things aren't going well and things are clearly not going well. Then comments get made about the atmosphere being toxic but it's because of results.

We have been mostly rubbish this season against inferior opposition and whilst I don't vent too much at the game, some people do.

Think most fans are just depressed with life at Prenton , most sit quietly and take it. Others like to get on their backs . if we were winning games at home on a regular basis, the fan experience would be a different world than currently . I was looking around the faces in the crowd today and my god there's some sour faces on the terraces. The most entertaining moment was when the ball went out of play and our fan kicked the ball in the air to a raptous clap from the main stand....

For 88 mins I am afraid we were 100% outclassed, outplayed, outfought, out thought, outpassed and the outlook on current form is the Conference North. No motivation, no tactics, no shape, no movement, no leadership, no second ball winners and the outlook no hope.

We are, sadly, clueless. We switch off defensively far too often and concede poor goals, we are second to every ball, too many can't pass to another white shirt and others overly complicate things, we're throwing high balls up to forwards who can't hold the ball up and hitting deep crosses that defenders gobble up for breakfast. As far as goal scoring goes we seem to switch between trying to walk the ball in and aimless long shots with little in between.

There's no drive, little thought and no desire to impose ourselves on the opposition. I'm not sure theres a plan B, hell, I'm not certain theres a plan A. The only positive I can thing of is that we are fairly well organised as a unit.

But make no mistake we are still better than Braintree. If, and it is a big if, we can sort ourselves out and get things going in the right direction we will fly through this league. Not this year though.

Having got the lucky early goal I thought, at last, that's the break we need, but then gift the opposition a goal and the momentum straight back. Something is clearly majorly wrong. Whether or not he deserves the blame (I put today squarely on the players), maybe it is time for someone else to have a go.

The players deserved every bit of booing at half and full time, but not the abuse hurled at some during the game.

It was obvious how much playing at PP meant to a tin-pot outfit like Braintree, its about time the same amount effort was shown by our players.

we have some moronic fans but that does not remotely explain the way in which the season is going from bad to worse.I have not favoured the manager must go approach and I expected us to take time to gel and hence did not expect promotion this year. But there really is a pressing need to turn form around. We have a big cushion in terms of relegation but the way we are playing it will be needed.
For me the optimism at the start of the season was because I looked forward to a season when we would not have to struggle. Regardless of whether we are threatened by relegation this is descending into as joyless a season as those of recent years. It is difficult to put it down to injuries when we struggle against teams with smaller a squads. The last six weeks have been so bad that it is tempting to speculate about the unity of the dressing room. The ope was that the experience of Fletcher Taylor and McNulty would add a touch of know how but that is far from the case. This is not a squad of novices finding their feet and for that reason I begin to fear that this is as good as it is going to be

And they gave us a one goal start with the early own goal. They were the better team from start to finish and should have won by three or four goals. That's why they were applauded off by a sizeable number of fans and we deservedly were not.

At half time Shaun Garnett came out and asked Kirby and Dawson to come to the dressing room. So we assumed two subs. Dawson came on but Kirby disappeared and Brabin never showed any indication or inclination that he was going to use a second or third sub. Braintree used all three of theirs-did Brabin really think that we were playing so well that the same eleven should stay on for the second half?

His treatment of Kirby-baffling. Will do wonders for Jakes confidence-not.

For me, the number 30 and 10 were the best players on the park today. The first ran the midfield, and outgunned us in all departments especially midfield were we got overrun far too many times. And the thing for me we did nothing about stopping it!
Glad Dawson is back and I would have played the front four by choice of Dawson, Mekki, Norwood and Mangan! But we lost the game because we were just not good enough as a team around the park.
We didn't half miss Harris, Hogan and Riley!
Something has to change, especially the midfield two!

The bottom line is when you are managing a club getting 4000+ in the conference the pressure is going to be on. Any player coming in thinking they will get a gentle 'do better if we lose' pat on the back is deluded - stick from the fans is inevitable unfortunately.
The current problem may well be poor tactics/man management but it started with 'sweety shop' signings in the summer. More specifically, starting the season with no right back and one unproven wide player was ridiculous. This mess started then, the squad was clearly unbalanced, and I was surprised that MP allowed the recruitment of players to pan out like this.

I am very disappointed with the way our form has nose dived and the fact that none of the players are panicking enough (reference Vaughan interview last week that there are plenty of games to go etc.).Although it maybe a confidence thing now getting beaten toe to toe by Braintree seems to say we are mismanaged ,team selection is wrong or none of the players are listening or care enough about getting beaten especially at home.I don't think we will get relegated but losing on a regular basis might force Palios's hand to act while the season can be saved.Unless Brabin can start a run to bring us back up the table and beat Wrexham next week he needs to step aside

We've seen our club in free fall for years being in the conference is bad enough but sliding down the conference is unacceptable! Brabin has has over half the season and have we really improved since our first game of the season? Not that I can see!!!!

Totally agree Davis887. We live in a democracy where freedom of speech should be applauded and encouraged. If others don't like supporters expressing their opinions go live in a country with no freedom of speech. To call them idiots and morons is pure ignorance. If others don't want these fans turning up then be content in the knowledge we will have equivalent home crowds to Braintree (the chants were also coming from the paddock and main stand). Don't shed any tears for cotton wool wrapped footballers who don't put in a shift. We were beaten by a team that gave 100 per cent effort, had excellent team spirit (including the coaching staff) and scored two well-taken goals on the day; three attributes we were sadly lacking. I was one of those left to applaud Braintrre off in recognition of their honest endeavour on the day and their deserved win. We could learn many lessons from these so-called "tin-pot outfits" who have put us to shame on numerous occasions this season. Let's stop pretending we're better than our position in the league at the moment; we have earned the right to be where we are. The push begins next week, or is it the week after! It had better be soon. I live in hope rather than expectation.

I wasn't at the match, but noticed that brabin had lost the team at Woking, so should have gone then.

However, having seen the goals, basic mistakes!!!!!!! Not picking up the free man from the throw in, then our midfield (from his run, it would have been the centre pair) not going with the runner who scored the first. For the second, Maynard had two opportunities to clear the ball, both times he rushed it and made a poor clearance, when the defence should have told him he had time and space to bring the ball under control.

Both goals are from lack of communication, you need a leader at the back (meant to be McNulty) and a leader in midfield (meant to be Jennings). Neither are doing their jobs of organising the players around them, as its brabin who put them there, he needs to deal with it.

Absolutely pefetic. I noticed the attendance was 4200 yesterday. If this continues, then we will be sub 4000 by Christmas, and a poor season will see us at about 3500 by the end of the season, might as well close a few stands .

I can understand people saying "Oh next year we can push on, I never expected promotion". But it's tortured hope, we're not a steady established mid table in the division side, we are sinking fast and have been for years. I'm sorry but if we finish outside the top 3 this year we will push on no where. Our performances aside other teams now see us as finished, we are the bedraggled former world heavy weight champ. He's still a big impressive looking guy but underneath he's athritic and has lost his punch. We are a joke to other teams in this league now and however big we perceive ourselves, we will recruit no decent players in the summer because who wants to emabark a jettisoned torpedoless submarine. We have managed to get a few decent names in this year on the come back stronger theme, but you have to say We couldn't even get the first choice for the managers role, he obviously spotted the huge hole in our portside in the summer. What will next years slogan be.....Marooned longer!

The problem with having a go at the players en masses is that the better ones, the likes of Norwood and Harris will be the first to look somewhere else and will no doubt get snapped up.

I think Norwood is a proud man and was visibly upset near the end of the game when an effort didn't go in. After the game just before he went down the tunnel you could see he was gutted.

We have been in free fall for three years, five managers, hundreds of players but the same pattern.

Max Power was getting dog's abuse after a dip in form last year, just before our real slump. Now he's shining in league one. Have any of the 'I pay my money so I can say what I want' brigade given it a thought that barracking and getting on players back makes the problem worse? Probably not they'll say the player didn't care about his home town team but does about Wigan.

Or maybe they are so frustrated they've just got to let it out.

Our club has got something wrong at the core and it's not the players or managers. They're just the symptom.

If the players don't want to play for the club, then they should be playing for their own self pride surely?

They are supposed to be a hand picked group of specialists t this level aren't they?

The way thy are performing, I wouldn't put them up to stud chickens!

They are supposed to be professionals, and they are being out fought by part timers week in week out. Not acceptable sorry!

If I applied myself in the same manner I'd be sacked.

People are getting on their backs because they desrve it, simple as that.

Getting behind the team will have little or no impact at all.

They all need to be put up for transfer in January, and a new manager brought in to reassemble the team while there's enough games left to try and accomplish something.

Sounds harsh, but if they don't want to play for the club then they are no use to Tranmere Rovers!

Some very valid points made in my opinion. However bad we may be at the moment, it seems uncanny that we are only 6 points away from a play-off position with half the season still to go.

16 points off the top spot though, where we should be fighting for!

Yeah I loved Max couldn't understand the abuse. Striker narrowly missing and showing his frustration near the end of the second half great. The reason strikers are having a hard time is lack of service from mid field they're too closely marked because of lack of creativity. Don't worry about drunken rant Im on leave tomorrow

All agreed then - it's a@#$%&side just because of a few 'experienced players' have totally B*ll*cked the team. Brabin's selections have NOT worked, McN, T-F, Rideo & Jenno need to go, YOUNGER, faster players who will tackle rather than watch - and pass to a white shirt are needed. Take a thrill pill Mr Brabin, time to change the team NOW and try a different approach (only one sub used, poor tactics - Kirby should have played, where's the reserve forward he seems up for a place as he appears to be able to score constantly - and don't use the age thing Dean's debut was at 16). And what exactly does happen on the training ground because it doesn't show on the pitch. Injuries do not help - but as the manager you find replacements. I do not agree all the vocals at the end of the Brainless match were aimed at all players, I repeat - a few 'experienced players' have totally B*ll*cked the team.

I can't believe no-one has mentioned Maynard having a nightmare,he did @#$%& all apart from a few flicks, why didn't he put Kirby on? He's young ,hungry,on form & has a point to prove.
We had enough chances to at least draw that game, but our strikers need 10 shots to score a goal. Get rid of the players who aren't cutting it.Real Madrid had the Galacticos & won @#$%& all, just because you have the best players doesn't mean they will be good together

Our midfield is horribly unbalanced. There's no combination of two out of the three that works. Jennings and Harris are too similar and Maynard just isn't someone that can play in the two-man midfield. I can see how he could be effective in a three-man midfield but he just doesn't have good enough ball control for our current formation.

Bromley at home and Wrexham away (until Jennings was brought on) say different.

Harris and Maynard in central midfield in both of those games.

Jennings is the problem.

Ah! Blind faith, this primitive instinct still exists. Let's banish all those who dare to insult our faith!
On the subject of moronic I think you meant "the chants at the end of the game were moronic". Good luck to you and your opinions, keeps a balance to the debate and the forum is healthier for it. In my experience it is those who voice their distaste at the end of matches who are also the most vociferous in supporting the team during the game. Conversely, those who have blind faith sit there meekly and quietly through 90 minutes with little or no passion (shall we sing a song for you). All of this just my experience with a splash of opinion to flavour.

Rather than thinking I am better than others I enjoy a healthy debate around facts. Look at the majority of the posts and do the maths. Thanks for keeping me on my toes; ever thought of football management? Enjoy the game on Saturday.
