I've spotted your ''deliberate mistake''-Bristol Rovers and first round not third

If we get through tomorrow (which I'm not convinced we will), I'll be looking forward to this one immensely!

I wonder if the game maybe moved to the sunday as brighton are at home in the league on the saturday

Should be a decent game and Tranmere would definitely have the advantage, but first the thorny issue of Lincoln.

Yeah it was I think!

I was at the Gosport v Whitehawk 3rd Qualifying Round replay. I can't really remember anything outstanding about them to be honest.

Sergio Torres was a busy little midfielder, not afraid to put himself about, he had a good touch and an eye for a pass.

They've got some height in the squad and were quite a physical team, not necessarily within the rules of the game either.

The game was marred by some bad refereeing decisions and saw 3 red cards; the undeserving first was Gosport's Dan Wooden following some 'gamesmanship' by The Hawks' Danny Stevens, who came across as a bit of a troublemaker. Whitehawks' Nick Arnold was deservedly sent off after hauling Boro' striker Justin Bennett down when clean through on goal and Bennett also saw red following two yellow cards for two silly but blatant trips of a opposition player.

Unfortunately there was also an issue of the travelling fans allegedly racially abusing the Gosport goalkeeper, Nathan Ashmore, which was dealt with by the stewards.

If we do get by Lincoln, I didn't see anything in Whitehawk that would cause us any real problems. Norwood would run their defence ragged, GTF and McNulty can both handle the physical side of Whitehawk's game. Torres and Harris would be an interesting battle in midfield though. Although it is the FA Cup and as we all know, anything goes. Might try and get to that game myself if it happens.

I was reading their fans comments and they seem to be made up and think they are going to beat us.

Poor result and could be costly again this weekend having 10 men mainly all game and a massive game this Saturday against Dover, would have happily seen the kids get a game tonight and just concentrate on the league !!

Because it wasn't a glamorous 1st round tie, the management decided not to bother. Resting Mekki and GTF, Davies deciding that margetts was looking tired so making brabin to take him off. Fair play really, concentrate on the FA vase.

I like the fact that you picked up on the Mekki injury, but not the Taylor-fletcher one. Didn't consider that Davies got sent off on purpose, because margetts was tired after 15 mins. And even considered their could be a glamorous tie in round one. It was sarcasm, I apologise if it wasn't to your taste.

I'll be honest, I didn't know they were different. A bit like the conference and national league

Bullet dodged i think, we would probably have made a loss on the game potentially picked up injuries and maybe switched off and gotten beat

Actually I haven't picked up on much the last few days as I've spent much of my time at Arrowe Park hospital and travelling to and from there-critically ill mother in law.

God we we're once in fact three times in the quarter finals of the FA Cup and now it's the FA Trophy or Vase that's getting talked about on here how low we have fallen.

didcot town, salford city, brackley, st albans, fc united, whitehawk, staines, afc fylde, stourbridge, Chesham utd, gainsborough trinity and no tranmere rovers in fa cup 1st round. lets make sure this never happens again. onwards and upwards and back into that football league.

lol, i wouldnt bother with hk football matt. the standard here is atrocious and it worsens every year. hk's footballing heyday was in the 70s but ever since then the quality has deteriorated. i used to watch quite a lot of games here at the hk stadium and mong kok stadium and other smaller venues around the city but i dont bother anymore. the last game i went to was an asian cup qualifier involving the biggest local team , south china and that was about 4 years ago. it doesnt cost much to watch a local game about 7 quid. even the hk national team is pretty dire. they recently scraped a 1~0 away win against, wait for it, BHUTAN in a world cup qualifier, wow! lol. ive seen ian muir play out here about 20 years ago when he had a spell with a team called sing tao. actually met and spoke to him a couple of times. shaun teale was another ex rovers player that played over here but he didnt last long. every may at the end of the european domestic season we have the hk soccer 7s which is a 3 day tournament staged at the happy valley football club. a lot of the big english and the 2 glasgow giants send over their youth players to compete in the tournament. ive actually seen some of these youth players actually progress to the english premier league. the tournament also has other european and asian youth sides plus a number of other smaller teams. would love a tranmere under 16/ youth team to come over.

maybe it was best that we didn't have to go down to whitehawk, they've just beaten Lincoln 5-3. just watched the aldershot v Bradford match, pretty dire game.

Delighted with that - Lincoln proving what a dire and anti-footballing side they are!

They were nothing like as anti footballing as Eastleigh.

I hope that Brabin and our coaches were watching and taking note of how Whitehawk played and as a result go at Lincoln from the start.
