In our latest Man of the Match vote of the season which related to last Saturday afternoon's 2-1 home defeat to Eastleigh, we can reveal that there was no separating Matt Hill and Adam Dawson who share the award.....

After a full week of voting following Tranmere's hard fought but ultimately disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Eastleigh, we can now reveal that the Man of the Match for Tranmere's performance, as voted for by you the fans and readers of this site, was shared by defender and captain Matt Hill and midfield wide-man Adam Dawson who shared your votes equally.

In a game that had everything, it was the visitors who struck first following a goalless first half which had seen Rovers have the better of the game in the opening 45 minutes.  However just two minutes after the break, Rovers fell asleep at a corner and allowed Partington a free header into the goal for 1-0 to Eastleigh.

Just three minutes later Rovers were down to ten men thanks to a silly second booking for Lois Maynard but Rovers bad luck had only just begun.  A slip by Liam Hogan at the back saw James Constable capitalise by scoring past Scott Davies for 2-0 before Rovers had to first replace the injured Adam Dawson and then just moments later having used all their substitutes, they saw Andy Mangan limp off leaving the home side with just nine men.

That wasn't the end of the drama as Steven Jennings who had come on as one of those substitutes, netted a consolation goal for Rovers eleven minutes from time before the visitors themselves found themselves down to ten men in injury time as goalscorer Constable saw red.

As you can see from the poll below, Hill and Dawson both polled 22% of the 23 votes cast (5 votes) each to share the award whilst Jay Harris and Scott Davies shared joint third place with 13% of the vote each (3 votes).

Three players shared 9% of the vote (2 votes each) and two of those were substitutes (Steven Jennings and Liam Ridehalgh) alongside starter James Norwood.  Despite his slip for the second goal, Liam Hogan polled 1 vote (4% of the vote) to complete the voting for this game.

Thanks to everyone who voted in the Man of the Match poll and don't forget that you will are still able to vote for your Man of the Match for Tuesady evening's 1-0 home defeat to Barrow on THIS LINK whilst the poll for tomorrow's match at home to Barrow will be available later on Tuesday evening after the match so stay tuned to Total Tranmere.
