Honours even half time. Despite the missed pen we were right in it. The slip cost us the game the injuries and sending off just all added to the tasks

It always sounds like your looking for excuses when you focus on the officials.

Today however, the three as a group were not only incompetent throughout but, their fitness levels were questionable.
The referee was arrogant throughout and simple lost control and by the end Eastleigh, especially the goalkeeper, were talking the P*** out of him. With all the injuries, substitutions and time wasting( including Eastleigh's goal celebrations) how did he only get 5 Minutes added time!!!

I never thought I would long for the Football League Officials!!!

The game today was strange and all turned with the penalty miss, their opening goal and the sending off. Safe to say we owe Eastleigh one now and their were cheats, I have never seen so many elbows, flying arms and shirt pulling.

Go again against Barrow on Tuesday this is just one of those games to forget,

The referee was appalling, the linesman on the stand side was indescribably poor. KEEP THE FAITH. This lot were heavily fancied preseason. We gifted them a goal thanks to a slip, had a man sent off, missed a penalty, were an extra man short thanks to injury and had no luck with decisions whatsoever (how was the pen not a straight red?). All this, and we were still comfortably the better side and they were the ones hanging on. Everything that could go wrong did do, that's not likely to happen again.

I feel silly saying it but I'm really proud to support that team after today.

As battling and spirited performance as you'll ever get with everything not going our way.

I'm always fairly easy in the refs even last week against Bromley but that today was disgraceful!

He lost control of the game the moment he booked Maynard in the first half when clearly he has slipped into their man.

Just need to move on from this and win on Tuesday!

Good Point Deadly, for me, it showed the closeness of the squad which has developed and the willingness to work for each other no matter what happens.

If only we had that type of commitment last season but, that's another storey!!!

We got what we deserved their for a ten minute period eitherside of half time were we got to involved in the refs decisions and fell asleep after the break. Great game though and had we have scored the pen I think would have won easily. We were clearly the best side and played really well. Thought Norwood and Dawson were fantastic today. Maynard was lucky to stay on first half, slip or not it was a bad tackle and really type of game he plays should have come off at half time.

The watering of the dry pitch cost us the game today. The 2nd goal was a slip and Maynards 1st booking was a slip(sent off for a 2nd bookable offence).WHY oh WHY??????

Did we water at half time? I didn't notice anything. There's not much chance that any pre-match watering was to blame.

The club have added loads of sand to improve pitch drainage, one of the consequences of this is that the surface may have less grip as the grass doesn't root as well.

Yeah this has been explained at the Palios Q&A thing not too long ago and was posted on here.

There were plenty of factors that went into today's defeat, the main one being probably the worst referee I've ever seen at Prenton Park.

We looked good until a soft goal conceded from a corner. Maynard has to take some blame for a needless first yellow and naive to contest the fifty fifty leading to the second yellow. Overall though we looked good again and had lots of bad luck with injuries. These things happen and no need to get downbeat. A marathon not a sprint etc.

Forget the referee and making excuses the match hung on our forwards missing firstly the one on one then the penalty and then our two defenders gifting them their goals, no effort in jumping for the first and laurel n hardy for the second, we fell into the trap of slugging it out like a bar room brawl and lost out, their forward who got sent off was like that from the start, we knew what it would be like in this league but it's not a nice reminder.

Unlucky today I feel. Shoulda woulda coulda springs to mind if the pen went in.
Maynard might regret that sending off for a while now. He has managed to keep Jenno out for 2 games after his suspension, now Jenno is straight back in for Tuesday.
After that sending off though I feel straight away we should have gone to 3 at the back. As there the centre halves were contains the 2 forwards easily and they didn't have much width in their team.
Anyway it was like a war out there and our players left everything out on the pitch. It was also pleasing to hear the crowd get behind the lads acknowledging their efforts.

Wasn't overly concerned about the missed pen. My thinking was second half shooting towards the kop the atmosphere will go up a notch but it all just unraveled very quickly. Your not coming back from 2 down with nine men. The people behind me calling brabin every fat @#$%& stupid useless name under the sun are just clueless idiots who clearly know nothing about the game. Also as pleading as it was to most to see Jackson going off in my opinion he was starting to get s bit of joy and looked a danger can fully understand the decision though

The game hinged on the penalty first half, Norwood got tripped in a goal scoring position by the last man. Why wasn't he given a red? Score the pen and cruise into the second half!

Officials were shocking today and the liner main stand side was unbelievably shockingly bad! He was behind the back line all game.

Give credit to the lads, they had a right go!

Taking me boots Tuesday, could slot in on the wing!

Sometimes however much you want something to turn out better, it just doesn't. You could blame a zillion and one things for it, but ultimately it changes nothing.

The best thing for Brabin and all concerned is focus on the Barrow game.

I'm happy Jenning's scored a goal, it will do him some good, but the game was one of those not likely to be repeated any time soon things, as most games don't pan out like that.

I would think one bright spot from Brabin's perspective, would be bringing on a sub who scored, as that happened with Blissett too against Grimsby, so that should help him feel good about some of decisions I expect.

Win against Barrow and a possible second place, but I reckon 1 more league position is what they would get and hopefully Forest Green lose their next match to Eastleigh and that would set the tone nicely for a potential Tranmere win next week.

2 possibly 3 injuries and a red card mean we are going to be short of numbers until we can get some players in

Depends on the resources left. Mangan could be replaced by Margetts, or a recalled Stockton who is scoring a few at Southport, or Brabin could punt on Omatola.

Kirby could be recalled for wing duties, or Ridehalgh could be used in the wide left area, as a replacement player.

However Brabin could very well go for one or two loanees, but that would depend on how long people are out for, as one person being out for a week, wouldn't make him pull that trigger, but 3-4 weeks, I could seem him doing it.
