Riley: "I'm Looking Forward to Getting Started"

Reaction from new signing Martin Riley after penning a one-year deal with Rovers earlier today....

 

 

 

 

 

 

After putting pen to paper on a one-year deal with Tranmere earlier today, defender Martin Riley expressed his delight at signing on at Prenton Park and admitted he is looking forward to getting started whilst also labelling his new employers as a 'massive club'.

Speaking to the Tranmere Rovers Official Website this afternoon, Riley said.....

"I'm delighted to put pen to paper and get it sorted.  It's a massive club.  The gaffer has great desire to get us out of the league.  I always said that if I was going to drop down the divisions that it would have to be for someone who was going to be contending for the title, and I'm satisfied that is going to be the case here."
 
"I've got a lot of experience in this league so hopefully I can help this club get back into the Football League.  I was injured at the back end of last season at Mansfield when Tranmere played at Field Mill, but the support from Tranmere at that game was unbelievable so I know it's a massive club and I'm looking forward to getting started."

I think Riley's snooker club has closed, so I doubt he'll be hanging around there using his name to blag a free orange juice and a game or two of pool on discount.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
