Tranmere Captain Steven Jennings wins the Man of the Match Award for the Luton Town home game last Monday.....
After five days of voting, it can now be confirmed that you, the fans and readers of this site, voted Tranmere Captain Steven Jennings as your Tranmere Rovers Man of the Match for last Monday's 1-0 home defeat to Luton Town at Prenton Park.
The victory for Jennings was fully deserved as he had a great game for Rovers in midfield alongside Max Power before the youngster was unfortunately stretchered off the field. Despite the result, Jennings put in a hard working performance in the centre of the park aas Rovers held their own for a considerable amount of time in the game before succumbing to the penalty that ultimately denied them any points from the game.
As you can see from the poll below which had a total of thirty-one votes cast, Jennings polled a respectable 65% of the votes (20 votes) to take the award with his nearest contenders in joint second place being Adam Dugdale and Liam Ridehalgh with 10% of the vote each (3 votes).
Aside from the top three mentioned above, only three other players polled any votes at all, including starters Michael Ihiekwe and George Green with 6% of the vote each (2 votes) and second half substitute Iain Hume with 3% of the vote (1 vote).
Stay tuned on Sunday morning for your chance to vote for your Tranmere Man of the Match for the vital away trip to Southend United which of course takes place at 3.00pm on Saturday with the results of that poll to be announced on Monday evening of next week prior to Rovers' Tuesday night away game against Mansfield Town.
