Latest Edition of Rovers Fanzine Now on Sale

The latest edition of the Tranmere Rovers fanzine, "Give Us An R" is now available to purchase at all of Rovers' upcoming home and away matches.......
With Tranmere’s poor performance and subsequent defeat away at Cheltenham Town on Saturday afternoon, came the latest edition of the popular Tranmere Rovers Fanzine “Give Us An R” which went on sale for the first time at that game and will be available for fans to purchase at all upcoming Rovers home and away games in the coming weeks, starting with the home game against Wycombe Wanderers this Tuesday evening.
Edging ever closer to its 100th edition, issue 97 of the magazine, perhaps appropriately, features a full front cover page picture of Marc Laird who has been the subject of much debate amongst Rovers fans in recent weeks with many suggesting that he is the answer to some of the current midfield problems on the pitch.
Recent away games which are featured in the regular ‘Away Days’ articles in this issue are reviews of the trips to Exeter, Newport and York which of course saw a win, a draw and a defeat in that order. As usual there are also all of the regularly featured contributions such as 'The Hairdryer Treatment' (Ryan Ferguson), 'The Jones Journal' (Trevor Jones), Total Tranmere's very own Deadly Submarine, Matthew Jones and Liam Scarth’s European Football piece.
Ryan’s piece looks at how the Rovers players need to buck up their ideas and make sure they are giving their all if Rovers are to avoid relegation from League Two whilst Matthew Jones talks about the problems likely to stem from the multi-billion pound TV rights deal for the Premier League was announced recently.
'Give Us An R' is on sale at all Rovers Matches both Home and Away
Trevor Jones provides his usual review and personal take on all the Rovers games that have taken place since the last edition whilst Deadly Submarine covers all of the above topics and more in slightly less detail in his regular contribution. Liam Scarth talks about Belgian football, including a returning player playing for a rival team and tifos provided by fans at games.
Other non-regular features in this edition include two pieces by Tom Raybould, one looking back at the career of Iain Hume following his recent return to Prenton Park and the other looking back at St Yates’ Day when Rovers of course beat Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park.
Alongside the usual 'Guess the Grounds' quizzes are an article about Tranmere’s inconsistencies at the current time and one about the troubles at the Newport game in which a County fan appeared to arrive for a fight armed with the legs from an ironing board!
If you've never read GUAR before, or you used to read it but have since lapsed, why not give it a try. The fanzine is on sale at Tranmere games both home and away with matchday sellers at Prenton Park usually situated on the corner of the Kop and Johnny King Stand and at the opposite corner of the Stadium next to the Johnny King Statue. At away games the Mag is usually on sale at the away turnstiles.
Priced at £2.50, the fanzine is an entertaining read featuring mixed views and opinions on both Rovers related issues and football in general so why not give it a go!
