Rovers come from behind twice to earn a point against lowly Bristol City. After a defeat last time out to league one highflyers Preston North End, Rovers travelled to the South West to take on Bristol City in which was a must win game for both sides who are at the moment threatened with relegation. Rovers could have gained all 3 points against their lacklustre opponents after a valiant display.... 

Ronnie Moore's men started proceedings brightly, challenging City several times in the attacking third of the pitch, however it was the Robins who struck first just 13 minutes into the game when former MK Dons star and captain Sam Baldock's resplendent shot/cross from what seemed an impossible angle came off the post and flew into the top of the net.

Despite this early setback Rovers kept up their rythym and were rewarded on the 19th minute when Wolves loanee Jake Cassidy saw his effort rocket into the roof of the net after a neat move by Matthew Kennedy and Liam Ridehalgh found James Wallace who assisted the Welshman's first goal since re-joining the club. Tranmere dominated the rest of the first half and saw it out level at 1-1. Rovers' slick passing display continued throughout the second half, threatening Bristol on a number of occasions until finding themselves a goal down for the second time on the 77th minute when Baldock held the ball up, dropped his shoulder and played in a cross for Derrick Williams who's header found the net with ease.

The travelling supporters were stunned by this after being the dominant force in the game, but they were soon to have smiles back on their faces when Steve Jennings quickly found club hero Jason Koumas who's curled shot into the top corner sent the supporters into delirium. Rovers continued to pressure City and nearly found a winner on the 90th minute when Ryan Lowe curled a shot just over the bar.

Jason Koumas- "I thought we controlled it first half, we were very comfortable but just couldn't get the chances"

Ronnie Moore- "Our three midfield players were outstanding. They couldn't get to grips with the way we were playing and we caused them no end of problems. I look around at this level and I don't think there are three better midfield players than the three we had out there today"
