After his side earned a 0-0 draw away at Crewe Alexandra on Saturday afternoon in League One, Rovers Manager Ronnie Moore was happy with the clean sheet and felt a draw was a fair result.......
Tranmere Manager Ronnie Moore was delighted to see his side keep another clean sheet and felt that his side could perhaps have taken all three points but that it would probably have been unfair on Crewe if they had done so.
Speaking to Tranmere Player after the game, Moore said....
“I don’t think we did enough to win it. I thought it was a decent game. They’re a good attacking side, they want to go forward and they move the ball well. Clayton has got a hell of a future, his movement is fantastic."
“The clean sheet is nice but it would have been nice to have had one or two more clean sheets. I can’t moan at ours lads, they’ve given their all and worked hard on a red hot day. I’ve probably put the jinx on it because I said it was going to be two footballing sides and there was no way it was going to be 0-0."
“It’s a point and we’re still in the top two, that’s the big thing. We’re still unbeaten in the league and we’ve got two home games to come which will be as hard as this one."
“It would have been nice to have nicked it but probably not fair. What a fantastic following though, they got behind us and kept going. The crowd are behind us and willing us on and we’ve got willing lads, you can ask for no more.”
“It was probably hard on Roman (Golobart) but I had to go with a gut feeling. Ben and Ash have done well together. It’s a clean sheet away from home and we didn’t have too many of them last season."
“I feel sorry for Max and Jake who have done well and it’s hard for me to leave them out. But we’ve got that bit more experience in there now. It’s nice when you can look at the bench and think you can change things.”
With Gibson extending then Goodie will be 3rd choice which is actally great fr rovers ,have a felingMcCrytal will be wantinga move as he desnt seem to bein ith a shout. oman to go back end of month
It's good though that they have Goodison, Taylor, Gibson, McChrystal and even Kay could be used at Centre back at a push and Bakayogo has gone there before, Black is still unknown, but that area infront of Fon looks strong right now and that's a really good measure of squad depth.
All Ronnie needs now is another loan striker, just to beef up the options I think.
To me, this is the best chance Tranmere have had in years to get back to the championship.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
