Tranmere Manager Ronnie Moore was delighted with the effort and workrate of his side in the 2-0 home win against Leyton Orient on Saturday afternoon and singled out midfielder Andy Robinson for particular praise after the final whistle.

Speaking to Tranmere Player after the match, Moore said....

"It's fantastic, I thought we deserved it.  People are asking if it was handball for the goal, but you play to the whistle and it was a great finish.  I thought we looked nervous in the second half and went a bit deeper.  We've got to learn how to win and keep the ball."

"But there was tremendous application from them all and our keeper hasn't had too many saves to make. I think we just about deserved it.  At 2-0 at half time you get greedy and think 'can you get four?', but it's that confidence thing and learning how to win again. Hopefully now we can kick on from here."

"I thought Robbo was streets ahead of anybody today, he was absolutely fantastic. He's got great ability, looks after the ball and never gives it away. He's a good leader, a good winner and a good competitor. Our two midfield lads worked hard against their three and you could see one or two lads blowing at the end.  Lucas did better out wide, he grafted and worked hard."

"We've got another tough one coming up on Tuesday so I've given them tomorrow off.  They've been used to coming in on Sundays all season apparently and only having Wednesdays off so we've done our cool down outside now and I've given them a break tomorrow."

"Preston will come and be competitive. We can't rest on our laurels, we don't want to be sucked back into that bottom four."

3 points on Tuesday would be stunning but not unrealistic. If you'd have asked this a few weeks ago most folks would be delighted with just one point!
