If you can't make Tranmere's game at home to Leyton Orient on Saturday afternoon, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend......
For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the more costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.
The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match analysis.
Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game as well as a half-time report on how the game is going for the benefit of those who are unable to make it.
Tranmere of course host Leyton Orient on Saturday afternoon in NPower League One so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?
Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.
You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.
Admin staff will try and add the team and updates on the game on this thread where possible whilst there will also be our usual update service from our Twitter feed @totaltranmere so if you are not already following us it may be worth doing so!
We are reaching the stage of Must Win Game.Very close to
being in bottom 4.
Physchologically being in the bottom 4 near the run in to
season end is not positive.
Time to stand up and be counted.Should be a good crowd with
£5 tickets.Hope we don't get a repeat of previous 2 cheap
games which we lost.
Come on Rovers let's turn on the style
I thought it was a grest performaance they worked hard today ash and goody had a great gamme could have had a couple more do feel brunt should have been brought off he looked tierd role on tuesday
Thought we were great today, first half especially.
We pressured them from the front 2, hassled and harried them, we made them play the long ball a lot of the time and Goody and Ash won nearly everything in the air.
Nice to see us much more attacking, first 45 mins was really good t watch! Second half bit of a non-event but delighted with 3 pts and up their with one of the best home performances of the season (which, admittedly, isn't hard )
Well we did it and well deserved.Great atmosphere in main
stand and great to see so many school kids enjoying the day
out.
Thought the ref was really good.No bookings and a lot of
common sense with his decisions.
So it's Preston on Tuesday and Sheffield U on Saturday.
After that our run in is comparatively easy so who knows
we could end up should be in a reasonable position.
As I said in an earlier posting with someone like Ronnie Moore from the start of the season we would have been
near the play offs with this squad.C est la vie
Good result over all just need tweaking a touch we still need that natural goal scorer hope fully Ronnie can find that item
before that window shuts only slight down side was Akins the lad tries hard but theirs some thing missing in his game it`s that touch that`s lacking or that ability to think that next step to get into space or pass the ball at the right time some times he over plays it but apart from that little moan it was well played over all from all the team including Akins contribution today, hope fully we can keep it tight at the back
and get that natural goalscorer in for Tuesday to add to the mix and we can beat Preston(corback to back wins)on Tuesday onwards and upwards.
lol thank you. It didn't make sense. Half the kop was cheering, half seemed to be booing. And it seemed to be the same people doing both. It's been a while since I went to a game. I enjoyed it. hope to go to more in future
Good performance overall. Thought Robinson had a good game and worked hard throughout more than Tuesday nights game IMO. I just can;t see how Labadie can't start, he might when the loan signings of Wallace and Brunt ends so they can justify dropping them/leaving them out. I know Wallace is a good player but I think Labadie could do just a good job and free some wage bill funds for a striker.
As for Brunt with the few games I have seen him play I think Stockton could have done as good a job and gained that match experience instead of being shipped out. This would have also freed up the wage bill for muzzy to stay
Enjoyed the game today after the depressing disaster at Chesterfield. Good performances by virtually everybody[wasn't too keen on Akins but he had good and bad patches] Robbo,Buchanan and Holmes were probably our best players. Was concerned in the first twenty minutes of the second half when we looked nervous and allowed them to come at us too much but fortunately Fon Williams made a couple of fine saves particularly the one from Chorley's flick from a corner. I would definitely keep Wallace for as long as possible and thought Brunt did very well in the second half once he stopped allowing himself to be bullied by their two centre backs in the first half hour. He's pretty good at holding the ball up.
I thought the ref was good and very consistent trying to play the advantage when he could before blowing up-it looked as if Robbo may have controlled the ball with his hand before lashing it in but we are due a bit of luck.
It was a good performance again today, something to build on for sure. I totally agree with Hootsmon and disagree with guar1885. Wallace is absolute class, he picks passes out that no one else sees, gets stuck in when he needs to and he is just that bit of quality that we need in midfield. I don't agree that Joss can do the same job, he is a good player but Wallace has that bit of class that Joss doesn't have. You've also got to say that Joss looses his head far too much.
Although I don't like to critise a player who actually scored for us today, but i thought aside from the goal Enoch had a poor game. Still doesn't look fit to me but I'm hoping that the goal will give him a boost and he can kick on from there.
Still, great to see us win finally and it's nice to put that 1 in 20 statistic firmly behind us. Another 3 points on Tuesday and just under half way to 50 points.
Labadie is good but Wallace has the improved temperament.
The one slight downside is that Wallace hasn't scored, but may have setup. I think Labadie can provide a bit more output in terms of goals and assists, but I think Wallace could potentially up his tally playing in 4-4-2.
I'm pleased to see Ronnie putting Akins wide and dropping Weir. The danger being, he could have thought they might start playing better in a 4-4-2, with another 2-3 games and then leave them there possibly costing the team.
As for Preston, I think they look a bit more beatable now, compared to last time
Current run in the last 9 games.
4 draws, 1 win.
Goals, 3.
Goals against, 9.
Worst result, 3-0 V Colchester.
Last 2 games, 2 points, 0 goals, 0 goal difference.
Overall form, 7 points, -6 goal difference.
Tranmere in the last 9 games.
4 draws, 1 win.
Goals, 7.
Goals against, 9.
Worst result, Wycombe 2-1, I don't think the flukey Bournemouth 2-1, was as bad.
Last 2 games, 4 points, 3 goals, +2 goal difference.
overall form, 7 points, -2 goal difference
Conclusions. Preston can defend about as well as Tranmere, but due to Tranmere picking up a small increase in scoring form in the last 2 games, when Preston didn't score, Tranmere have had more goals and appear favourites to win, especially with home advantage, but as we know anything is possible.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
A deserved win we started bright but had faded a little bit until the goal and to get the 2nd just on half time gave us a nice cushion.
Second half was a bit scrappy but we rarely looked likely to concede and deserved the 3 points. Another decent performance and a long overdue 3 points, if we can get another win on tuesday things will be looking a lot healthier.
Bizarrely, Tranmere has the 5th best defensive record in league 1 if I have counted correctly. Virtually a goal a game. However, less than a goal a game scored. Didn't take a rocket scientist to work out what was missing....

At one point in the season, (just before the bad run i believe) we had the best defensive record in the country in ALL divisions! Even throughout the bad run we were never really hammered by anyone.
Its this reason that I think we will now stay up with Ronnie, and if he can find a goal poacher from somewhere, we could potentially finish mid-table, as following yesterdays result, that bottom half is very tightly packed together!

It's been the same all season. We're a 15+ goal man away from being a top ten side, at the very least. The difference yesterday, which we've barely had during the terrible run, was both Robinson and Enoch were fit and firing on all cylinders, with Enoch particularly showing his value in getting in a great position in the box to finish off a cross.
Matthew, Enoch could get into that position to score as he was playing in a 4-4-2 too often he hasnt been able to in 4-5-1 as hes had to chase all over the pitch.
Tranmere at one point had 12 goals conceded in 15 games with 7 clean sheets. I think the average was roughly 85% or 0.85 goals a ame conceded.
Mcgurk getting 3 in 3 earlier this season, gives me hope that under Ronnie when he's back, being upfront with another striker will help him achieve more.
I think he and Enoch could be very workable and productive together.
Technically the team can still get 71 points, so may just sneak the playoffs .
Though of course I'll settle for 65 points and top 10.
No in all seriousness, Ronnie would look really good on 57 points, 1 more than last season.

We've won 1 game against a not very good side. You're getting more than a little carried away methinks.Let's just take each game one by one and see how it goes.
