Tranmere Boss Les Parry was left to rue a poor performance from his side as League Two high-flyers Cheltenham Town progressed through to the second round of the FA Cup at Prenton Park thanks to a first half penalty that secured a 1-0 win.

Speaking to Tranmere Player, Parry said......

"We never got started.  In the first half we didn't get into our stride and we suddenly think that after half time we can flick a switch and lift it up and it just doesn't work like that."

"They've done a good job on us.  In the first half we were poor and they were the better side, but we had three great opportunities to score and we've got to take one of them.  I don't think we've even made the keeper make a save. That's poor."

Les Parry 3

"I think it was a fair result and although they've not really tested Fonners, they've stopped us from testing their keeper."

True but if they win next week it could put them top 6.

The good form in the league needs to be a priority now and trying ot maximise their chances to win.

Defensively the platform to get points is there, so if Sheffeild Wednesday have learned something from their local rivals experience, they will know Tranmere are not a team this season noted for often letting teams get their goals easily.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

trying to recall 3 chances myself, so poor cant think of a player who can say they had a good game, could name a few who shouldnt wear a tranmere shirt but i will reserve judgement until i cool down.
