With the season finishing less than a week ago, the pre-season friendly schedule for Rovers is already taking shape this week with three confirmed so far and no doubt many more to follow.......

Article Header - Breaking News

Tranmere fans can already look forward to three pre-season matches ahead of the 2011/12 campaign following confirmation this week of early entries onto the much awaited friendly fixtures list.

So far, Rovers face two local away trips to freshly promoted Chester FC and Altrincham FC as well as a home match against a Manchester United XI in late July.

A young Rovers side made the trip to the Deva Stadium during the 2010 pre-season campaign and sadly fell to defeat whilst a slightly longer trip to Altrincham has become almost customary in recent seasons in the build up to yet another new season.

The home game against Manchester United will most likely feature youth and extreme fringe players from the Premier League Champions elect due to the fact that the first team are on a tour of the U.S.A at the time of the match against Tranmere but it is a different team to face than recent pre-season campaigns and many fans will look forward to it.

The friendlies announced so far are....

Tuesday 12th July: Chester FC (A) - Kick Off 7:00pm

Saturday 23rd July: Altrincham (A) - Kick Off 3:00pm

Wednesday 27th July: Manchester United XI - Kick Off TBC

Total Tranmere will bring you news on the pre-season fixtures as they are announced so stay tuned to us for any further announcement.

My favourite game every season is normally the first pre-season friendly we play v Hamworthy Rec a local park team! They play on a bit of field by our training ground and have the most amazing club house! During the week we train at Canford School next door to them and our players go into their club house for lunch. We play them every year as a thank you, normally the first game or if not the 2nd one. We all go and get beers and meal from the club house and lay out on the grass bank chilling out and catching up with your footie mates you've not seen for 6/8 weeks. The fan webmasters use that game to get up to date pics to use, the kids normally have their own kick about using the cricket nets as goals. I have never once left the game knowing the score (Sm6) About 4 years ago I had 3 trialists lodging with me and had driven them to the game - we finally realised (after they had joined us and been sat with us for about 30 mins) that the game had actually long finished and not one of us had noticed (Sm59)

Still recovering from a very long day yesterday! Up at 5am, few hours of work, onto the coaches at DC at 11.45, arrive Hudds 18.00ish, depart Hudds 23.07, arrive back at DC at 4.30/5am, straight into work until 10am then some sleep!!

The result of which - see you in the league next year!drinking smiley

Proud of our boys - amazing season. Welcoming the break now and the who's staying/who's going/who's new coming in malarky for the next few weeks.

Roll on Hamworthy pre-season game.

Lets take the league by storm together next year grinning smiley

You were unlucky last night.

Huddersfield should have had at least one man sent off, probably two!

The ref was appauling IMO - how the hell Kilblane remained on the pitch after pushing him 3 times is beyond me!!! But dodgy refereeing didn't cost us the game - our total inability to defend corners and score pens cost us.

Can't complain, we have had an amazing season - plenty of highs and lows. We've lost a manager, assistant manager and total of 5 players, none of whom were replaced. We were favourites to go down and instead took part in one of the best games ever at this level and showed the world how exciting L1 football can be. Can't ask for much more than that can we? (Well apart from hoping our players can learn games last 90mins not 80, how to defend corners and how to take pens!!!) eye rolling smiley (Sm6)

Probably because Kilbane is who he is was the reason he stayed on!

No disrespect bmb, but Bournemouth could well be the team next season that really struggles after finishing in the play-offs the year before.

There's always one for sure Matt, we did it, Yeovil did it one year and Swindon this season just gone.

We're predicted to struggle every year! Fav's for relegation 2 seasons ago starting on -17 - we stayed up, fav's for relegation last season - promoted in 2nd place, fav's for relegation this season - defeated in play off semis.

No doubt we'll be favs for relegation next year too! (Sm16)

I think a lot will depend on whether we get the mass exodus some have predicted by not going up. If we can keep this squad together or keep the losses down to 2/3 and sign a tall thuggish defender or 2 who know how to protect the back at corners, then I think we will be ok or we could totally implode and have a@#$%&season. Can't wait either way because it will be full of highs and lows (Sm42)

Honestly? I think we would have flirted with relegation all season and either come straight back down or finished 1 or 2 places above the drop zone at best! I just wanted the 4mill so we could build a 4th stand (Sm6)

I see the bookies already have us as 5th favs for promotion next season - so that's us @#$%&!!

Can't wait for the fixtures to be out - only about 3/4 weeks to go for that and then can start planning!! I managed to get to 40 games this season with it being a nice Southern League. Next season I'll only do a handful of away games as it's a northern league. Your game is a definite so we'll have to arrange a meet up. I might stay up for the whole weekend so it'd be nice to meet up for a beer or 2 with a few of you. Depending on when the game is at our gaff maybe a bbq on the beach when you're in town grinning smiley

That beach comment is giving me bad memories of French holidays and rotisserie Chicken that accidentally got dropped in the sand, and then you think you've wiped it all off and you haven't and it grates in your teeth and feels absolutely horrible (Sm7).

Aaack.
