Rovers lose physiotherapist

Tranmere Rovers physio Steve Walker has left the club to pursue a career in teaching just eight months after arriving on the Wirral.

The former Crewe Alexandra physio, who also spent one year with Burton Albion, joined Tranmere Rovers on June 29th 2010 as Les Parry put his backroom staff together for the 2010/11 season and was a good friend of Les Parry before coming to the club.

He came to Prenton Park to replace part-time physio Lee Martin and will be replaced by his assistant George Cain, an ex-referee, meaning Tranmere have now employed four physios in the last twelve months.

Walker has left the club to pursue a career in teaching after completing his PGCE and has been allowed to leave the club after an opportunity came up.

Les Parry has described Cain, his replacement, as "a bit inexperienced on the physio side because he's only just qualified", but also commented "He'll do a good job standing in and I'm here for him to lean on if he needs advice".

Cain will take the role on a temporary basis until Tranmere decide exactly what direction they wish to go in.
