Centre-back re-joins Tranmere from Coventry

Tranmere Rovers have today resigned central defender Jermaine Grandison on loan from Championship side Coventry City, with the defender now remaining at Prenton Park until December 8th.

The 19-year old centre-back spent one month at Prenton Park in September, after signing on August 31st, but returned to Coventry, just before Tranmere were due to extend his loan deal, after picking up a hamstring injury in Rovers' 1-0 win at Bristol Rovers.

In his one-month on the Wirral, Grandison made six appearances for the club, with Tranmere keeping clean sheets in two of the games he played in, whilst he has also played in two or Tranmere's three league wins this season.

The defender goes straight into Tranmere's match day squad to face MK Dons today, where he has taken his place on the substitutes bench, though no announcement has been made yet on the players availability for Tranmere's F.A. Cup clash with Bournemouth next Saturday.

good news, In fairness Broomes played really well today and I wasn't his biggest fan at the start of last season but he's improved a lot. Grandison Will find it hard to get a place in the team.

really not sure we need to sign him, broomes had a good game and cathalina was decent at right back.

I wonder what effect or pressure him being onm the bench may have had on the lads on the pitch ?

Grandison bolsters up the cover options. Plus Broomes may not have been a dead cert for Saturday, so it was done for that as well possibly.

I agree on Wood. I'd like to see him come good, but being on a 1 year deal, I think he was signed that way incase he was seen as chaff and not wheat. Les may have to offload a few players at the end of the season, apart from replacing loaned players obviously, so if one or two people don't progress properly, Wood would be likely to go.

A shame, but I still think he can have some sort of positive impact and I certainly don't regard him as a serious error of judgement.

I think this is a good move. Broomes was a contender for man of the match for me on Saturday and I think it's healthy to have options should injuries or suspensions occur.
