Experienced striker Ian Thomas-Moore is Tranmere's most important man,
with the Rovers captain ending the 2009/10 season as the clubs top
scorer with fifteen goals, with Tranmere not losing a single game he
scored in.
Wirral born Thomas-Moore, son of former Tranmere player, coach and manager Ronnie Moore, started his career with the club in the 1990s and was a hugely promising youngster with the club, as he made over 60 appearances in a three year stint before joining Nottingham Forest for £1,000,000 in 1997.
However, the striker failed to make a lasting impression with the City Ground club, and after a loan spell with West Ham, he was transfered to Stockport County for £800,000, where he scored 21 times, before moving to Burnley for £1,000,000 in 2000 and then to Leeds United for £50,000 five years later.
After being released by Leeds in 2007, Thomas-Moore joined Hartlepool United, but despite scoring nine times in 30 games for the club, he failed to settle in the North East, and when dad Ronnie came calling on transfer deadline day 2008, he didn't have to think twice about re-joining Tranmere, signing for the club on a free transfer.
Since returning to the club, Thomas-Moore has been an influential
player, scoring some crucial goals along the way, playing both as a
striker and as a right sided midfielder.
Well capable of scoring screamers from incredible angles, the Tranmere number nine has a brilliant technique and a cool head, helping him score some hugely important goals for Tranmere as he helped them stay up last season.
Ahead of the 2010/11 campaign, Thomas-Moore, who got married last summer, is eight goals away from netting for the 50th time for Tranmere.
