Tranmere pulled off the excellent signing of Joss Labadie on a two-year contract in May 2010 following his release by West Bromwich Albion, with the youngster signing a two-year deal at Prenton Park.

Labadie’s first spell at Prenton Park came at the end of the 2009/10 campaign, when he joined the Prenton Park club and became a hugely influential player from centre-midfield as he helped Tranmere to safety in League One, making nine appearances and scoring three goals.

The midfielder came through the West Brom academy but failed to ever make an appearance for the Midlands club before his release, despite signing professional terms in 2008.

He did however have three loan spells away from the club before coming to Tranmere, spending time on loan at Cheltenham and Shrewsbury during the 09/10 season, as well as a brief stint at Shrewsbury at the end of the 2008/09 campaign.

A midfielder who likes to push forward, Labadie will weigh in with his fair share of goals but is also capable of helping his team back in defence with his strong powerful presence.
