Rovers Begin Season with Home Tie vs Oldham

The fixtures for the new League One season have just been released and this season it has seen Rovers handed a home match on the opening day against near neighbours Oldham Athletic. For copyright reasons we are unable to post the full fixture list but we can bring you the dates of some of the key matches right here....................
Tranmere have this morning been handed an opening day home match against Oldham Athletic at Prenton Park when the 2010/11 season fixtures were announced.
Rovers follow up their opening match with a midweek Carling Cup trip to Walsall following yesterday's draw before then playing Huddersfield Town away the following week.
Over Christmas, Rovers play newly relegated Sheffield Wednesday at home on Boxing Day before travelling to Brentford on the 28th December and then a first trip to Rochdale for 22 years in the League on New Years Day with the return of that game just a month later .
Rovers travel to newly relegated Plymouth Argyle on 12th February whilst the trip to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday is on January 29th.
Tuesday night games away from home see trips to Bristol Rovers and Carlisle United this season for Rovers.
A first ever meeting with Dagenham and Redbridge comes early on in the season on 28th August at Prenton Park whilst Rovers travel to Essex on 16th April for the return.
Rovers final match of next season sees thost last season's failed promotion play-off side Swindon Town and Rovers fans will be hoping that if the game has some meaning for the third season in a row, it will at least not be a relegation fight like the Stockport game at the end of last season.

Brentford at home may well be a Friday night though because the Merseyside Derby is on the Saturday.

got to be positive!!!!!!!!!!!!!
without knowing who will have good season it seems like we have a decent run-in too which has been crucial last 2 seasons. April especially looks a very winable month minus huddersifled.
