Tranmere complete the signing of right back Timothy Cathalina on a one year deal as the Dutch Antillian becomes Tranmere's second summer signing following Joss Labidie's move during May after a successful loan spell at Prenton Park.....
Tranmere have today completed the signing of defender Timothy Cathalina on a one year contract.
The 25 year old right back joins from Dutch Eerste Divisie (First Division) side FC Emmen where he made 17 appearances last season.
He spent the previous four seasons with AGOVV Apeldoorn where he scored five times in 111 appearances after coming through the youth system of FC Twente.
Cathaline who plays at right back, was born in Willemstad on the Netherlands Antilles island of Curacao. He spent two weeks on trial at Prenton Park at the end of the 2009-10 season.
Manager Les Parry told the media.....
Timothy did well while he was over on trial and he will be a good addition to our squad.
"He's a fast, physical right back who is comfortable on the ball and I'm delighted he has agreed to join us."

dont know anything about him but hopefully he can be another zoum. The only problem with that is if he is we will lose him next year. Nice to see les looking further a field.
Little bit worried we are looking at players who Grimsby didn't fancy, but hey he could turn out to be class. I hope so because the gulf in this league is becoming wider, on the day we sign some full back nobody has heard of, Huddersfield sign Gary Naysmith! Going to be hard for us to compete next year.
Les has obviously seen him during that trial period. At times it has looked like our full backs are our best creative players, with andy Taylor, then Baka and the little right back fella from man city / JLS being class going forward. Lets hope he is like them and not a robbie play it safe stockdale.
Thats one position sorted for next season, now all we need is to sign a goalkeeper, striker an a goalkeeper and hope that the out of contract lads sign up.
i think we need a new goalkeeper centre back because goodison wont be able to play 46 games imo... a striker and a winger and we should look pretty strong
Goalkeeper, a good centre back (ie, better than McCready/Broomes and hope we only keep one of those two), probably could do with two wingers though that depends on the intended formation, and a striker.
This is in addition as re-signing the likes of Welsh, Bakayogo etc.
Personally think we need to wait and see where we stand with regards to players resigning before we say who we need to bring in. The most important thing though, in my opinion, for players we do bring in, has to be somebody who can play in more than one position
i have heard we are intrested in signing rochdale's Tom Kennedy LB he has been in team of the year in league 2 twice in the last two years plenty of other clubs are also intrested also nicky law and gary jones just hearsay at the moment. another one is we are trailing once again Everton and Scotland legend Graeme sharp's son chris sharp where john barnes failed to spot the talent He played 40 apps with 33 goals with TNS in 2010. in 2009 he played for Bangor, he scored 20 goals in just 23 starts in his first season with the club before he got injured. he could bang the goals in no dout about that i just wish we took him up last season mayb he could of made a difference just like charlie austin did for swindon we have got to take a dip in the lower leagues instead of all these stupid players like micheal ricketts & bas saverge's of the world the evidence is thier. SIGN HIM UP LES !
I said the same thing. We should be looking at hungry players that want to move up from non league. They have low wages so not much of a risk and would relish the chance to play for us. Let's stop getting players that are not fit and has beens.
It is impossible to judge this signing.Almost certainly the lad is cheap but there is not enough known pedigree to see this as antyhing other than a wait and see signing. We had quite a few of those last summer and the seeing was not always good

I think Tranmere should use this as a way of obtaining one of their young reserves on lone. In saying that the young Goalkeeper we obtained from them at the end of the season came up trumps.
