A look ahead to this weekend’s big game as members of Total Tranmere FC prepare for a showdown at Prenton Park in what will be their third annual game on the hallowed turf for what always proves to be a fun ninety minutes of (almost) footballing action….

Mike Jackson's Birthday XI v Nigel Cooper Legends XI
Kick Off 2.30pm at Prenton Park
With the Football League season now all over bar the play-off matches, all eyes can now focus on what is without the biggest game of the season this coming Saturday afternoon. We are not referring to the minor matter of Chelsea v Portsmouth in the FA Cup Final but instead the game at Prenton Park between members of Total Tranmere FC.
For the third year in a row, 22 players from Total Tranmere FC, the football team linked to this website, will take part in an 11-a-side squad game on Prenton Park's hallowed turf (mud?) and this year the game take place at 2.30pm this Saturday 15th May.
Total Tranmere's Mike Jackson will manage a team for the third year in a row, this time his Birthday XI, whilst the opposing Manager this year following on from Wayne Franks and Pete Glavin is Nigel Cooper whose Legends XI will be looking to end Jackson's unbeaten record as Manager at Prenton Park so far.
Last season's game ended 10-1 to Jackson's side whilst the year before he masterminded a 5-3 win over a Wayne Franks XI so surely his luck will run out soon?
If you are at a loose end on Saturday afternoon and don't fancy the ‘excitement' of Chelsea v Portsmouth in the FA Cup Final and most importantly if you fancy a laugh, why not come down and watch the game? Kick Off is at 2.30pm and admittance is through the Players Entrance and then into the Paddock to watch the game.
Hopefully there will be a match report on the game later next week so stay tuned for news on the match result.

Mike Jackson's Birthday XI
Mike Jackson's main injury worry ahead of the game is himself as he battles a long term foot injury picked up twelve months ago in last years Prenton Park match although with just 48 hours until the game it seems unlikely to keep him out of the game.
There is also a doubt over Captain Richard Smith who has a virus but he too should be able to play the game.
Nigel Cooper Legends XI
Nige Coopers main injury concern is striker Warren Lynch who has ligament damage to his ankle but again should be OK to take part whilst Nige's team also boasts this year's two debutants in Pete Ward and Warren who will be looking to make a big impression first time out.

The pitch was pretty hard but with this rain we've had since then, it should be like a carpet..........ish!
